Situated in the gated community of El Rincon del Golf, overlooking the 6th green of Isla Canela golf course, a truly peaceful setting. Isla Canela is attached to the pretty town of Ayamonte via a small causeway bridge and five minutes away from the Portuguese border. The Costa de la Luz, meaning the Coast of Light is a unique and beautiful area of Spain, still largely untouched by mass tourism. Here the original culture and heritage of the local people is still very much present and the land holds large National Parks and bird sanctuaries. If you are looking for a hidden gem, a place to get away and relax far from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life, then Isla Canela is the ideal holiday destination!

Notes on accommodation
The apartmet is fully air conditioned with dual function to provide heating in the cooler months. There are also ceiling fans in each bedroom for those who prefer not to use air conditioning. It is ideal for those with children, being a small development there is no trudge to the pool area, it is only a few steps away from the entrance.

The apartment is fairly unique in having a shower room in addition to the 2 ensuite bathrooms, making it ideal for people who want to avoid the 'evening queues'.

Accessibility
There is a lift to the first floor apartment making it accessible for those with restricted mobility.

Outside
There are both adult's and children's pool, open from Easter through to October with changing rooms, showers and WC. A life guard is in attendance July & August. The private gardens also have a slide and swings. Within the apartment the main terrace has a retractable awning to provide shade during those long leisurely lunches with outside dining for 6 and sun loungers. There are 2 other terraces providing seating and sun loungers.

Coast/Beach
The beach area is 2 mins by car and has a number of chiringuitos (beach bars) and other restaurants to sustain you during those long, lazy days where you can take a leisurely lunch whilst keeping a watchful eye on the children playing happily in the sand. The beaches of Isla Canela are never crowded. The island boasts over 7km of fine sandy beach beside the clean Atlantic ocean. You can walk along the beach with the sand in between your toes from the marina to the beach area.

Golf
Him indoors is the golf fanatic, please feel free to contact us for a chat about the beautiful game, we're here to help. The apartment is within Isla Canela golf course and as residents you are entitled to a 50% discount on the green fees. Take yourself off for 9 or 18 holes and don’t forget to wave to friends/family as you get to the 6th green. Other courses within 30 mins include: The new Jack Niklaus course at Monte Rei (something special), Castro Marim, Costa Esuri, Islantilla, Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei, El Rompido and Nuevo Portil. You will find the fees in this area extremely good value for money in comparison with other parts of Spain and Portugal.

Special interest holidays
This really is a holiday where you can to do as much or as little as you please. Choose from relaxing pursuits such as golf, bowls (situated at the Isla Canela golf club house), walking or cycling or fishing. Alternatively for the more adventurous there is kite surfing, organised boat trips, windsurfing or tennis (free courts situated adjacent to the apartment for the sole use of guests).

Travel
Getting here couldn't be easier. Our apartment is an easy 45 min drive from Faro airport (even I can do it), or alternatively 1hr 15 mins from Seville airport. Car hire recommended.
Once on the island it is only a 2 minute drive down to the marina/beach/Ayamonte, it really is easy peasy !

Distances
Marina area 4km, beach area 2km, Ayamonte town 2km, Portugal 7kms. Further afield - Tavira 30km, Faro 50km, Huelva (Columbus story) 60km, Donana National Park 100km, Seville 130km.

Further details
Within the marina area you will find shops, bars and restaurants catering to residents and mariners alike. Across the bay from the marina stands the small fishing village of Punta del Moral. This rustic village is home to quite a few fish restaurants where you may enjoy delicious meals prepared from the freshest ingredients at a reasonable price. The delightful narrow streets of Ayamonte are fully pedestrianised , beckoning you to explore with an array of cafes, tapas bars and restaurants. Stroll along the marina with its beautiful yachts, visit the morning market or climb to the viewpoint at sunset. The town boasts a magnificent cultural heritage which can be seen in its Baroque churches and whitewashed houses

A £150/180 euro (per week) non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. Payment can be accepted in £'s or euros, please ask for a quotation.

Excellent location to base your stay with 5* accommodation and within easy reach of all good spots from beaches to local town. With this being a predominantly Spanish tourist area you get the real feel for their culture and relaxed way of life. John & Debbie (3rd visit).

About the owner
Hello, my name is Tricia and I live in London with my husband and son. I also have a daughter who is currently living with her Australian fiance in Melbourne. Together we run a family business which keeps us very busy.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We purchased the property in Isla Canela after falling in love with the spectacular view from the 3 balconies and realising the peace and quiet that we would get whilst holidaying there. It also helped that my husband is an ardent golf fan and apart from the course, on site, he has been able to enjoy many many other local courses at a fraction of the price compared to the Algarve. From a personal perspective & from guests' feedback the area offers everything you need for all ages to enjoy a pretty laid back holiday. We visit on average 4 times a year but look forward to the time when work permits longer time periods spent in this tranquil area.

Unique benefits of the property
Being on the golf course means that from 2 of the balconies we have an excellent view of the 'beautiful game' with the 3rd overlooking the pool, it also means there's always the choice of sun or shade. We are fortunate in being the end apartment of the smallest block, giving us total privacy. El Rincon is a smaller development than most others, meaning access to the pool area is very easy, something many of our guests with children have commented on. Larger groups/families benefit from having 2 full bathrooms and a shower room. The apartment is only a couple of minutes drive to the town, beach and marina, giving plenty of dining choices.
