Ideal position for beach and town, Los Alcazares is in the region of Murcia on the Costa Calida. The Mar Menor and its surroundings are referred to as the 'Jewel in its Crown'. The Mar Menor means 'The Small Sea', and is a shallow saltwater lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 Kilometre strip of land named The La Manga Strip. The Sun shines on average 320 days a year making the sheltered and shallow mineral enriched waters of the Mar Menor around 5c warmer than the Mediterranean, it is a sunbathers heaven and a healthy rest-cure for tourists. Golf is very popular and the New Municipal Course will be completed shortly. There are 8 Courses just a short drive away including the famous La Manga Course. Water Sports are also popular and the surrounding areas are great if you like windsurfing, jet skis, sailing, and you can also charter boats to explore the Mar Menor and Visit one Island within the Mar Menor.

Changeover day
At the moment we are flexible about changeover days and departure times to coincide with flight times and dates.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a king size bed with air conditioning and a ceiling fan, with patio doors opening onto the balcony. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds with air con and ceiling fan. A Hairdryer is provided. |
| Bathrooms: | Bathroom has a large shower, bidet, WC, washbasin and heated towel rail. |
| Kitchen: | The Kitchen is modern with plenty of work surfaces and is well equipped with cooker and extractor, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle. |
| Living Rooms: | Open plan lounge/diner with air con and ceiling fans. The lounge has 2 comfortable twin settees, English TV/DVD player and some DVD's for your entertainment. There are books and games. The dining area with table and chairs has ample space for meal times. |
| Other: | Balcony. The balcony has table and chairs to sit out and eat and relax while looking at the beach, this can be accessed though the kitchen or bedroom. An ashtray is provided for smoking on balcony only. |

Outside
We do not have a pool, but feel it is not needed as the beach is a stones throw away and is perfect for swimming, and as it is shallow is very safe for children.
Coast/Beach
The Beautiful Sandy Beach of the Mar Menor is Less than 1 minute walk away, the sea is shallow and a few degrees warmer than the Mediterranean, a lovely place to sit and watch the boats coming out of the marina very close by. Bars and beach bars (in season) are scattered along the beach.
Golf
Los Alcazares has 8 courses a drive away, if you want to play golf in style why not try the La Manga Course which is 20 minutes drive away.
Travel
Murcia Airport (MJV) is about 10 minutes away by car, Car hire can be easily arranged at the airport, although we do pick ups and drop offs if you do not wish to hire a car, and if you just want a relaxing beach holiday a car is not necessary. We can also take you to the Supermarket, so you can stock up on all your needs for your holiday.
Distances
Although we are close to the beach we are also in the town of Los Alcazares, so everything you need is within walking distance, there is a street market every Tuesday where you can purchase items from food to gifts. It is very popular and a must for your holiday itinerary, Los Alcazares Town is very old and has churches and other places of interest to visit. There is a natural coast line that is a haven for wild life, and you will have plenty of interesting walks if you so desire.
Further details
Being in the town has many benefits, shops supplying you with all your culinary needs, the small super market with deli, butcher, fishmonger, and a walk away is a large supermarket. If you are not planning to self cater, there are numerous restaurants, mainly Spanish, but there are also Chinese and Italian, and if you are feeling home sick a 25 minute walk will take you to an English Community where you can have traditional meals, including a roast on Sundays, live music and can watch the football, there are now 3 Irish Bars, one of which does a lovely Full English Breakfast.
Booking notes
We require a 50% non-refundable deposit on booking and the remaining payment 1 month before departure. Laundry and clean is included in the price, (we do charge a £20 Surcharge for short stays). We charge 12.50 Euros each way if you require airport (Murcia MJV) pick up and drop off, this is the same as a taxi but avoids the hastle, they don't always do the direct route. We also do pick up and drop off at Alicante for 75.00 Euros each way.

We have holidayed here for two years now and hope to return in 2011, this is the best equipped and highest standard holiday rental apartment we have stayed in and is across the road from a great beach, everything you need is within walking distance including great cafes and places to eat. The area is still very Spanish and un-spoilt which we love. Vince and Jan are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble, they are very knowledgeable about the local area and suggest walking routes, places to bike to as well as restaurant recommendations etc. My sister and I feel like we have come home for 2 weeks when we arrive as the whole place is so relaxing and enjoyable!
Hilary and Vic enjoyed the apartment and area so much they are looking for a place here themselves, renting our place to use as a base.
Wayne and Teffie have just stayed for a 3rd time and have said they wanted for nothing, the apartment is in an ideal position and they could just relax and unwind.
Owner profile
About the owner
We are Vince and Jan, we moved out here 2 years ago, and have loved every minute of it. We have five Children and one Grandson, all but one are back in the UK, although they do visit us every year (more than once). One Daughter lives near us and manages an Irish Bar.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We planned to move to Spain 8 years ago, and after looking at many areas, we fell in love with Los Alcazares, we purchased this block of 2 apartments, we rent out 1 and live in the other.
One of our priorities was to live near the beach, and this we have achieved, it wasn't easy as they are hard to come by, but we were lucky as this property came on the market at the time we were looking.
Los Alcazares isn't a night club area, it is quite quiet, although in July and August the Spanish come from the cities for their holidays, but it is a more sedate way of life, they like the beach and to relax in the restaurants.
Unique benefits of the property
The obvious benefits about living here is the sun, and the sea being a stones through away, means we enjoy having a daily dip. Living in a Spanish community also means our Spanish is coming along a lot quicker, although we also attend Spanish lessons 2 nights a week, and our neighbours are very understanding when we get things wrong.
We can't imagine ever leaving here, we think we have found our paradise and have never been happier.
We like meeting the people that come to rent our apartment, and it is great to see them enjoying Los Alcazares as much as us.
