Top floor apartment which offers excellent sea views from a large terrace. It lies in Playa de Mogro, less than 200m from the village beach. Playa de Mogro is a small, secluded village around 20 minutes drive from the beautiful city of Santander. There are excellent amenities within walking distance of the apartment. Motorway links are superb, although the last few kilometres to the village make you feel as though you are entering the countryside and heading for the sea. The accommodation will comfortably sleep 6 people (although 8 can be permitted) with 2 very large double bedrooms and a 3rd smaller bedroom with a double bed. The apartment is furnished to the highest standards and has very attractive terraces to the front and rear. The apartment and Mogro provide a wonderful base to explore the delights of northern Spain.

Prices are for the apartment per week in UK pounds. Total prices will be reduced by £50 for two week rentals.

Changeover day
The preferred day for arrivals and departures is Saturday but this can be discussed.

Notes on accommodation
Bedroom accommodation (although there are beds for more than 6 people, 6 is a comfortable number as there is only one bathroom but 8 people will be the maximum number of occupants permitted). The apartment has recently been completely refurbished and equipped with brand new furniture. There is a garage parking space available.

There is a terrace to the front of the apartment which takes the morning sun. There is a terrace to the rear of the apartment leading from the lounge with a drinking area and dining area with a table.

Coast/Beach
The beach is a 1 minute walk from the apartment and there are excellent surfing beaches in the area (Suances, Liencres).

Golf
Golf in Spain tends to conjure up images of playing long rounds for high green fees upon busy courses in the south of the country. The north provides the contrast to that with some of the most scenically beautiful courses in the world. What is more, they remain the hidden secret of Spain, providing golf at a reasonable cost and on relatively uncluttered courses. The course at Real (Royal) Pedreña, the home of Severiano Ballesteros, represents the pinnacle of the courses along the coast but many of the others have equally breathtaking surroundings such as Santa Marina Golf and Club de Golf La Cuesta. Add to that the gastronomy of the region, the many historical and cultural sights and the magnificence of the Picos de Europa mountain range and you have a week or two weeks of a well rounded golfing holiday in the real Spain. Skiing
There is a skiing resort at Alto Campoo near Reinosa around 2 hours drive away. You can rent equipment there and there is a creche for children. Lessons are available.

Travel
You can fly daily to Santander (15mins) from Stansted. Bilbao airport is just over 1 hour from Playa de Mogro with excellent motorways all the way to the airport. There are daily flights from Heathrow and Stansted to Bilbao. Twice weekly ferries also operate from Plymouth to nearby Santander and from Portsmouth to Bilbao.

Cars can be hired at Bilbao or Santander airports or Santander city centre or you can take your own car on the ferries from Portsmouth or Plymouth.

Further details
Playa de Mogro has 2 bars / restaurants and a 4 star hotel. Mogro, which is around 2km away, has a supermarket, banking facilities and further bars and restaurants. There is a train station at Mogro where regular trains can be taken into Santander (20 minutes). There are excellent surfing beaches in the area (Suances, Liencres) and historic towns and nearby villages such as Santillana del Mar, Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera. The famous Atimira caves are also close by. The mountains of Picos de Europa are within 45 minutes drive and provide stunning scenery and hiking and cycling trails.

Booking notes
The deposit required for a booking is 50% at the time of the booking. The remaining 50% is payable 2 weeks before arrival. The breakage deposit will be £100 or 150 euros, payable upon arrival and returned (assuming no breakages) within one week of departure. There is no extra cost for the provision of cots and high chair.
