In this beautiful region of many colours and flavours with its different pace of life is situated, amongst olive, almond and orange trees, 'La Cuesta del Almendral', a large renovated Andalusian 'cortijo', more than 200 years old. Lying at the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada, 2km from Orgiva which is the starting point for the scenic walks of Las Alpujarras. This valley is fringed northward by the Sierra Navada and southward by the Mediterranean coast stretching from Motril to Almeria. 'La Cuesta del Almendral' is situated in the hamlet of Las Barreras with the most beautifull views to the Guadalfeo valley and the surrounding mountains and it is set on a hillside of one hectare of orchards and olive groves. It has been neatly renovated to cater for the needs of a large family or group of friends with plenty of living space, both inside and outside.

Special price for group up to 6 people for the whole farmhouse:
- Peak Season: 1350 Euros per week, all included;
- Middle and Low Season: 900 Euros per week, all included.
In August, for a booking of 2 weeks (12 people): 3990 Euros all included.
Changeover day
Flexible in Low or Middle Season, Saturday in Peak Season.
Arrive after 4.00pm and depart before 10.00am.

The Alpujarra leads you in less than 1 hour from the snowcapped scenery of the Sierra Nevada down to the Mediterranean shoreline and offers sights as diverse as its climate variations. The high mountain vegetation - chestnut trees and pines contrasts with that of the middle and low Alpujarra where olive, orange trees, vineyards and tropical fruits like avocados and mangos prevail. Although the sun shines throughout the year, Alpujarra boasts a treasure - water from the Sierra Nevada and snow which allows the year-round blooming of bougainvilleas, jasmine and geraniums.
The Moorish culture has left its mark here and reminds visitors that the past is always close. Gleaming white washed villages, irrigation channels and terraced olive and almond trees. There is no trace of pollution in this natural park where only the sound of crickets and cicadas can be heard.
During your stay, don't miss discovering the Alhambra Palace in Granada and exploring the beautiful white washed villages of the Alpurrajas. For those who like sports there are hiking circuits in the mountains, horse-riding, skiing in the Sierra Nevada or golf in Motril. You can relax with a book under an olive tree, enjoy a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, wander on the charming goat paths around our farmhouse or lay down under the moonlight looking at the clear Alpujarran sky.

Just to say we had a fantastic week at La Custa del Almendal. The accommodation exceeded all our expectations and the garden with its lovely pool and glorious views was a super place to relax in. We managed a trip to the Alhambra, tobogganing in the Sierra Nevada and a dip in the Med. as well as various more local outings. All in all a memorable week with some lovely warm weather.
