Notes on accommodation
Casa Madera is a new self-contained style log cabin, with fantastic mountain views situated on the outskirts of the beautiful whitewashed village of Competa. On the edge of the National Park yet only 5 minutes drive to the village with all its amenities and 20 mins from the coast. The cabin has its own heart shaped plunge pool, and easy access from the main road with private entrance and parking.
Outside
Casa Linda, is as spacious outside as inside. The views from all terraces are spectacular. The bbq dining area leads on to the 8x4m pool with its large terrace, shower and seating area, with the usual sun loungers and garden furniture. The walled entrance through double wrought iron gates, leads to a spacious terrace with feature fountain, and arched shaded seating area. There is ample exterior lighting for those late night parties.
Coast/Beach
With only 20 mins drive to the coast there are numerous beaches with secluded coves, most providing water sports, and beach bars. The popular town of Nerja just 25 mins away with its 16 kms of beaches, and all major water sports inc jet and water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.
Golf
The nearest golf course to Competa is the recently opened Baviera Golf at Caleta de Velez about 20 mins drive away. A beautiful land scaped 18 hole course open to non members. Buggies and equipment are available for hire. There is a nother 18 hole course at Anoreta which has been open for aapprox 10 years, this takes approx. 30 mins. to drive to from Competa.
Skiing
Approx. 90 mins drive away is the resort of Sol y Nieve Ski Resort, which boasts more hours of sunshine than any european ski resort. There are 79 runs covering 87 kms, the majority of the slopes face north east so the snow stays longer.
Travel
Malaga is the nearest airport, approx. a 60 mins drive, car hire is recommended. There is a bus service to Malaga time tables available.
Distances
Nerja with its famous caves is 25 mins. away. The city of Granada with the famous Alhambra Palace and ski resort is a 90 mins. drive. The beautiful city of Seville is approx.3 hours away. As is Gibraltar to the west of Malaga passing the tourist areas of Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Marbella and Puerto Banus.
Further details
The white washed village of Competa with its typical winding streets boasts many excellent restaurants and bars. There are 3 banks with cash machines and several small supermarkets. Horse riding is available and many walking routes for all levels. Off road biking can be arranged as well as painting courses, and guitar lessons. There is a large shopping mall in Velez, only a 25 mins drive with a large food hall, boutiques multi screen cinema, ten pin bowling, and numerous restaurants.

Bookings can be made via e-mail, phone or fax, with a 20% deposit payable on confirmation of booking. The balance being paid 4 weeks prior to arrival. Late bookings are available, with full amount being paid on arrival.
