‘Molino la Ratonera’ is a recently developed holiday retreat offering spacious accommodation and beautiful views over olive groves and a lush river valley. It provides an ideal location for those wanting a peaceful holiday and is also well located for guests who wish to explore the wonders of Andalucia. Granada and Malaga are around an hour away, Cordoba 2 hours and Seville 2 hours 30. The mill complex is accessed by a track under 2 miles from he nearest town of Zagra where there are banks, shops, bars, restaurants and an ancient castle. The mill is situated next to a river and a 5 metre high waterfall making it an ideal location for bird watching and wildlife. There is a network of tracks around the area which provide excellent opportunities for walking and mountain biking.

Notes on prices
Although prices shown are for weekly rentals, part week bookings are welcome and charged at a pro rata daily rate. We offer a 20% discount on second and subsequent weeks.
In our restaurant we can provide a 3 course evening meal with wine for 20 euros per person.
Late availability holidays command a 10% discount off published prices.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible to suit guests’ requirements.

Accommodation

All upstairs bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) have high beamed ceilings and wonderful views down the valley. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room with washbasin and WC. There is a house bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and washbasin. Downstairs there is separate TV lounge with sofa bed to provide a double or twin beds and a large flat screen TV and DVD player (please bring own DVDs). Traditional beamed living room with wood burning stove, sofas and dining table and chairs. Well equipped kitchen with traditional dresser. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and double sink. Outside there is a large private terrace with table, chairs, sunshade, sun loungers and barbeque.

There is one double and one twin bedroom, both with beautiful views down the river valley, a spacious bathroom with bath, shower over, bidet, WC and washbasin. The large open plan living room with sofas, dining table and chairs leads on to the south facing covered terrace. TV and video player is provided. Well equipped kitchen with traditional dresser, electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The terrace has views over the waterfall and river.

There is 1 double and 1 twin bedroom, a spacious bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin. The large open plan living room with sofas, dining table and chairs leads on to the southwest facing courtyard terrace. TV and video player is provided. Well equipped kitchen with traditional dresser, electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The terrace has views over the river valley and olive groves.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is a well equipped gym, bar and book/video/local information library.
We regret that due to the location near a 5 metre high waterfall we do not consider the site completely safe for small children.

Accessibility
La Palomera is all on one level and designed for use by guests with limited mobility. There is parking directly outside this house.

Outside
All properties share the large (13m x 7m) pool. The pool has an outside shower and is surrounded by a large sunny terrace with a covered shade area. It has striking views across the river and to the cliffs beyond. We use an ultra violet light pool cleaning system eliminating the ill effects of chlorine on the skin and eyes. There is also a sunny paved terrace with table, chairs and loungers outside the bar.

Coast/Beach
The beach at Lake Iznajar is a 30 minute drive from the mill and the Mediterranean's beaches are just over an hour away.

Travel
Malaga airport is 1 hour 20 minutes. Granada airport 1 hour. We recommend car hire but can offer airport transfers and a taxi service should you prefer.

Distances
Granada City 1 hour, Malaga 1 hour, Cordoba 2 hours and Seville 2 hours 30 minutes.

Further details
A welcome pack is provided on arrival and includes free range eggs from our own chickens. The area is excellent for walking or cycling and bird watching: we have printed guides and the walks are well signed.
