Terrades is a small villlage in Catalunya. The original house (Can Calabuig) was built in 1641 but was completely renovated in the 80's. It still has the original village olive press (quite a feature but unfortunately it no longer functions - perfect for holiday snaps). There is also an original sink in the garden where the village women used to do their washing. The terrace and pool areas are completely private. The large terrace by the pool has table/chairs, umbrellas, lounge chairs and a BBQ. The pool size is 6x4m (depth: 1.2m - 1.5m). There is also a 2-car garage. The village has a small shop (next to the house) which bakes its own bread, a restaurant and a village hall/bar/cafe and play areas for children. The Costa Brava with its beaches is a 30 minute drive. The town of Figueres is only 11km away.

Coast/Beach
30 minute drive to the Costa Brava with many beautiful beaches including St. Marti (close to the ruins of Empordà), Ampuriabrava (the Meds. largest marina), Roses (fishing boats bring their catch in and the fish auctioned) and Cadaques (home of Salvador Dalì).
Golf
There are two golf courses within a 30 minute drive of Terrades. Perelada and Torremirona.
Skiing
Within 90 minute drive there are many ski resorts: La Molina, Voltaire 2000 and Nuria to name a few. You can take the cog railway up to Nuria and in summer it's possible to walk down.
Travel
Airports: Barcelona - approx. 2 hour drive. Girona: (Home to Ryanair) - 45 minute drive. Perpignan (France) - 45 minute drive. All have car hire facilities.
Distances
Llers 6km. (small supermarket, bank and butchers). Figueres 11km. Many supermarkets, museums, including the Dalì museum. Other places of interest include Besalù, Castelfollit de la Roca both 30 minute drive; the ruins of Empuries are particularly interesting; Girona, especially the old quarter 45 minute drive and many other towns/villages. Further details
Figueres has lots of large supermarkets, banks, post office and many shops. All villages have a restaurant; at lunchtimes, do try the 'menu del dia' available Monday through Friday (usually the best value for money). Some restaurants are closed on Mondays, others on Tuesdays.

Prices quoted are in UK Pounds. Payment, 20% at time of booking; balance 28 days prior to arrival at house. A returnable deposit of 200 euros against damages payable at the time of arrival at house.
