With the beach across the road, shops & supermarket within 2 minutes walk & the daily market, square & charming church less than 5 minutes away, it could not be more convenient. The wide variety of restaurants & bars include several 'chiringuitos' actually on the beach & 'tapas' are still served free with each round of drinks! The unspoilt village and beach, framed by a backdrop of spectacular mountains form one of the prettiest bays on the Spanish southern coast.

Notes on accommodation
Remote control air conditioning and heating to lounge and bedrooms 1 & 2. Underground secure parking with private bay. Elevator from car park to all floors.
Full access to all areas by wheelchair, sloping walkways to ground floor. Elevator to apartment from ground floor and from basement car park.
Outside
Roof top terrace affords sunbathing and stunning views of mountains and bay. Two sunbeds are provided. Main entrance has audio entry phone for security.
Coast/Beach
Around 25 beaches locally and La Herradura is arguably the prettiest of all - and it is right in front of the building! The sheltered beach is a 2km strip set between the natural headlands of Punta de la Mona and Cerro Gordo and is lined with outside cafes, bars and restaurants and offers a good choice of watersports.
Golf
There are two local golf courses within 30 mins drive. Baviera Golf (bavieragolf.com) is beyond Nerja on the road to Malaga. Los Moriscos Golf Club (moriscosgolf.com) is beyond Salobrena near Motril. Both courses include restaurant facilities, club hire and tee times available throughout the day.
Skiing
From November to April you can ski at Sol y Nieve in the morning and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon. It's only an hour or so to Granada's ski resort, the most southerly in Europe.
Travel
Airports at Malaga (80 kms west) and Granada (100 kms north) are well served by low cost airlines from many European cities. Both are about an hour's drive and forthcoming motorway extensions will reduce this further. Car hire is recommended to appreciate all the area has to offer.
Distances
Almunecar 10 minutes drive east - busy shopping town and thriving resort with bustling Friday market.
Nerja, 15 minutes drive west - pretty seaside resort with typical Andalucian narrow streets, the caves and Balcon de Europe.
Velez-Malaga 30 minutes drive west - giant shopping mall at El Ingenio.
Las Alpujarras 60 minutes drive north - stunning scenery on the southern side of the Sierra Nevada.
Granada 60 minutes drive north - big city with very long history!
Further details
La Herradura has a good selection of shops, small supermarkets and a daily market with fresh meat, fish, fruit & veg and fresh bread from the local baker.
La Herradura is ideal for winter holidays with the special sub-tropical micro climate experienced on the Costa Tropical. Sheltered by the backdrop of spectacular mountains forming part of the Sierra de Almijara, the average temperatures are several degrees warmer than the nearby Costa del Sol.

Deposit 20% on booking plus €110 (£100) refundable reservation/breakage deposit. Balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. All payments also acceptable in Pounds. Current conversion rate on request. Family booking, an additional bed is stored under 1 of the single beds enabling occupation by 4 adults & 3 children.
