This is a year round destination, winter with hot sunny days where you can be BBQing in T-shirts at Christmas. Winter nights are cold and crisp with a myriad of stars in a black sky, but you can stay cosy with the central heating and wood burning stove. This is a traditional village house on the edge of a village, with a large swimming pool, providing 3 self contained houses, with flexible accommodation for 2 – 16 people. The large garden runs down to a small river, is south facing and enjoys fabulous views to the hills opposite and the mountains beyond. The garden has an acequia (small spring fed water canal) winding through and many mature grapevines and fruit trees , The large swimming pool and barbeque completes the setting. Find your own peace in one of the several tranquil nooks in the garden. It is 30 minutes from Granada airport and the Alhambra Palace in Granada. Excellent walking and bird watching from doorstep. There is a sofa bed in the living room and if required El Dormitorio, a stand alone double bedroom accessed by an external staircase, can be added to accommodate 8 people.

Casa Aurora is a large cottage with a wealth of features. It has a double bedroom with single beds, a fully equipped kitchen / dining room / living room with fireplace and a bathrooms. There is a sofa bed in the living room and if required El Dormitorio, a stand alone double bedroom accessed by an external staircase, can be added to accommodate 6 people.

La Casita is a small cottage a wealth of features. It has a double bedroom with single beds, a fully equipped kitchen / dining room / living room with fireplace and a bathrooms. There is a sofa bed in the living room to accommodate 4 people.

 

Notes on accommodation
Apart from the 3 self contained cottages, there is a standalone double bedroom, El Dormitorio, accessed by an external staircase, which can be added to any of the cottages to increase the number of persons accommodated.

El Dormitorio is situated above El Lavadero (the laundry room) a shared facility which has a toilet that can be used by El Dormitorio at night.

Outside
The large garden runs down to a small river which forms the boundary between Jaen and Granada provinces, is south facing and enjoys fabulous views to the hills opposite and the mountains beyond. The garden has an acequia (small spring fed water canal) winding through and many mature grapevines and trees including walnut, hazelnut, fig, pear, pomegranate, peach and olive. The large swimming pool, 10 x 5m and barbeque completes the setting. Find your own peace in one of the several tranquil nooks in the garden

Coast/Beach
The Costa Tropical is about 70 minutes drive giving access to many different types of coast and beaches. The drive to the coast is particulary beautiful and the stretch of coast, the Costa Tropical, is fortunate to have several lovely untouched spanish towns spilling down from the mountains to the sea.

Golf
Golf – several courses within 30 -60 minutes.

Skiing
Skiing 5 months of year – Resort “Sol y Nieve” host to 1996 World Championships.

Special interest holidays
Planned walks and 25000 walking maps are available. Walks go from the doorstep of distances varying between 1 - 6 hours. Walks can be guided if requested. Email for detailed walk notes.

Travel
Granada airport is just 30 minutes drive away from Casa Antonio and is serviced by Ryanair from Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands. Iberia fly from Heathrow to Granada via Madrid.

Malaga and Almeria airports, which have many other airlines are both about 90 minutes distance.

A car is recommended and all the major car hire companies are represented at all these airports. Please contact owner for website addresses should you require further details.

Distances
Granada and the Alhambra Palace is 30 minutes drive. Cordoba 60 minutes, Seville 150 minutes and Guadix 60 minutes. The nearest town, the historic Alcala La Real with its moorish castle is a mere 10 minutes drive. The whole area is dotted with historic remains of the moorish occupation, lookout towers, castles, palaces and mosques.

Further details
Mures is a small village nestling in the foothills of the mountains just north of Granada. The village has 2 shops, a chemist, an open air restaurant in summer months, several bars and a weekly market.

Casa Antonio is situated on the edge of the village in a quiet location, a perfect base from which to discover Andalucia.

There are other excellent bars and restaurants a five minute drive away, as well as shops in the nearby historic town of Alcala La Real, a mere 10 minutes by car.

Excellent walking is right on the doorstep. The area being the largest olive growing region in the world, provides a huge network of well maintained tracks, established to access the groves and are free to use for walking.

Booking notes
Once you have made a booking, we ask for a 25% deposit. We hold your reservation for 7 days allowing you time to transfer the deposit.
The remaining 75% is to be paid 8 weeks before arrival.
Finally we ask for a small deposit of €100 (£70) against accidental damages and breakages which will be refunded one week after vacating the property.
