The main feature of the Mar D'Or is the fantastic communal swimming pool with sunbathing areas and lawns. The complex is situated less than 10 minutes walk from L'Estartit's superb beach, and 10 minutes walk to the old town and harbour area, where there are numerous bars and restaurants. The complex is very secure, with security key required for all complex entrances. Swimming pool area includes children's pool. There are numerous golf courses within easy driving distance of L'Estartit, including Emporda Golf Course (8 mins), Pals Golf course (20 mins), Costa Brava Golf Course (35 mins), Peralada Golf Course (45 mins) and the PGA Catalunya Golf Course (50 mins).

Outside
2 large sun terraces leading off the upper floor. The larger terrace overlooks the swimming pool area and has dining table and chairs for 6, sun umbrella and gas barbecue (gas included). The smaller terrace has seating and views towards the fort at Torroella de Montgri.
Coast/Beach
Only 10 minutes walk to L'Estartit beach. This is a very wide, gently sloping beach, making it safe for children, and stretches all the way to Platja de Pals. All water activities available including pedaloes, banana boats, snorkelling, glass-bottom boats and para-gliding. Just offshore are the 'Isles Medes', a group of small protected islands home to thousands of species of fish and birds. Very popular Scuba-diving destination, with many diving schools in the resort if you wish to learn.
Golf
There are numerous golf courses within easy driving distance of L'Estartit, including Emporda Golf Course (8 mins), Pals Golf course (20 mins), Costa Brava Golf Course (35 mins), Peralada Golf Course (45 mins) and the PGA Catalunya Golf Course (50 mins).
Skiing
The Pyrenees and Andorra ski resorts are approx. 90 minutes drive from L'Estartit, making this an alternative base for that skiing break.
Travel
Girona aiport is the nearest to L'Estartit, approx. 45 minutes driving. Barcelona and Perpignan (France) are both approx. 90 minutes driving time away. Airport transfers can be arranged if required.
Distances
The Dali Museum at Figueres is 50 minutes drive. The medieval towns of Pals and Begur are approx 30 minutes drive. Empuries Roman ruins and L'Escala are 20 minutes drive. Barcelona is approx. 90 minues away by car, or can easily be visited as an excursion. Girona city is often overlooked, but makes for a great day out and is only 40 minutes drive.
Further details
The nearest supermarket, including bakery and patisserie, is only 2-3 minutes walk. Large children's playground is nearby. Nearest restaurants only 2-3 minutes walk, with a larger selection of quality restaurants 10 minutes walk away near the old town and harbour.
