The small white village of Guajar Alto is located within the upper rocky crags at the far end of the unspoilt Los Guajares valley. This lies hidden, just inland from Costa Tropical. There are citrus groves, almond, olive trees and avocados. Guajar Alto village has four bars and a local supermarket. Bar Carmen and Los Olivios are renowned locally for their food and welcoming hospitality. The house in Guajar Alto has been fully renovated and the private upper terrace boasts spectacular views over the village and the valley below. A secluded sun trap terrace is off the main bedroom. There is a fully fitted kitchen with spacious lounge dining area. For colder winter nights there is a wood burning stove to toast your tired feet after a long days walking or skiing. Local beaches are 25 mins drive. Water park in Almunecar. Granada town about 1hr. Skiing in Sierra Nevada. An ideal Andalucian village and location. We do have a number of returning rentals for this excellent property.

Living Rooms: Spacious lounge dining area with a wood burning stove for winter use.

House has its own private terraces. The main roof terrace with spectacular views and access via normal stairway, and a small sunbathing terrace with loungers off main bedroom.

Coast/Beach
Nearest beaches 25mins drive. Almunecar water park 30mins drive.

Golf
Nearest golf club, Los Moriscosis located on the coast 25mins away. A level course with pine trees and lakes, it is in the process of being extended to 18 holes. Open to all. Family can enjoy the beach whilst you play golf.

Skiing
Skiing in Sierra Nevada takes 1.5hours comfortable drive, dependant on traffic at the slopes, we have done it in 70mins - get there early! Avoid weekends and Spanish half term holidays. Slopes mostly gentle, family friendly and are reasonably priced. Usually good snow December to April.

Travel
Car hire is essential. Nearest airport Granada 1hr.
Malaga and Almeria 1.5hrs. Alhambra 1hr. Skiing 1.5hr.

Distances
Nearest towns: Granada 1hr. Durcal 40 mins. Motril (and large supermarket) 25 mins.

Further details
Four bars in village open throughout the year, Bar Carmen, Los Olivios and Pepes serve good local food and tapas. Small supermarket in village stocks most everyday requirements. Bread and grocery vans also visit the village throughout the day.
In summer months a refreshing local swimming/bathing pool is formed by damming up part of the river just above the villlage.

50% initial payment on booking, full payment for bookings less than 4 weeks ahead. £50 key deposit required with final payment.
