There is an adjacent nature park headed by the Mississippi queen restaurant and bar. The beach is fronted by a promenade along its entire length (2km) and is serviced by international restaurants and bars, providing shelter from the sun during the day and limitless choices to enjoy a meal or refreshment, with views of La Mata bay in the evening. There are 5 golf courses within 15 minutes drive. Torrevieja is the nearest town with fun fairs, marina and evening markets and is serviced by a circular bus route from the end of the road, every 15 minutes. Market day in La Mata is Wednesday.
