Coast/Beach
The apartment has sea views over the Mar Menor and is only 50 metres from the beach.
Golf
The nearest golf course is La Manga Golf Club which is only a 10 mins drive. Two new golf courses are near to completion and will only be about 20 minutes drive.
Skiing
About 3 hours drive just south of Granada at Sierra Nevada with some of the best skiing in Europe.
Travel
Alicante airport is about just over an hour. San Javier (Murcia) is about 20 minutes. Car hire is recommended to appreciate the surrounding area. Transport to and from airports can be arranged at an additonal cost.
Distances
Los Belones is 5 mins and has many restaurants ranging from Indian, Italian, Chinese, Asian, English and many Spanish tapas bars. Cabo de Palos is 10 mins and has a picturesque port with excellent fish restaurants.
La Manga strip is only a short drive with shops, restaurants, water sports and boat trips. The city of Cartagena is 20 mins by car or 35 mins by train. (approx. 1.70 euros return by train). Murcia (the capital) 45 mins is a Moorish city with a stunning Cathedral.
Further details
Los Nietos is a small friendly Spanish fishing village with a lovely promenade, which stretches from one end of the village to the other. The apartment is at one end but only a 10 minutes stroll to the village square. Near the square you will find supermarkets, a bank, a chemist, a butchers, a baker, a fresh fish shop and of course a couple of tapas and English bars. The village also has a few small restaurants serving excellent food.
