At the same time it provides an ideal base to explore Andalucia with Cordoba, Seville and Granada all within 90 minutes drive. Set in 12 acres of almond orchard, it has a southerly aspect and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The accomodation is spacious with many original features and comfortably sleeps 8. Supermarkets, restaurants and a clinic can be found in the local town of Colmenar, 4km away. The area around the house is gravelled offering ample parking. There is a built-in barbecue on the central patio. The orchard, fields and stream adjacent to the property offer pleasant and safe surroundings to explore.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 with twin beds, built-in wardrobes, Both rooms share an interconnecting bathroom.
Upstairs snug with double futon.
Bathrooms: En-suite to bedroom 1 with large walk-in shower (20cm showerhead) and double sinks.
Separate guest toilet.
Kitchen: Fully equipped open plan kitchen, you no longer need to feel left out when you are cooking. With built-in oven, 5 ring hob and extractor hood, fridge/freezer. Ample granite work surfaces and plenty of utensils in which to serve your favourite recipes.
Utility Room: Separate utility room, complete with washing machine, laundry sink, ironing board and iron.
Living Rooms: The indoor dining area and lounge are separated by a central fireplace. In addition to the downstairs lounge, an upstairs 'snug', complete with its own balcony can be accessed via a Moorish staircase and suspended walkway. Books and board games available.
Other: Outhouse storing garden furniture, bikes and outdoor games.

All bedding and bath towels supplied. Pool towels not included. Arrangements can be made to have the property cleaned at the end of each week, if you are planning an extended visit.

There are 2 adult and 2 children's bikes in the outhouse beside the property for use by guests. There is an outward bound centre 20 minutes from the property offering quad biking, horse riding, paintballing and adventure assault courses.

Travel
Malaga is the nearest airport, a 40 minute drive away. Granada airport is a 55 minute drive away.
Car hire is essential.

The nearest is village Comenar 4km.
Granada and famous Alhambra Palace 1 hour 30 mins.
Malaga 30 mins.
Antequera 30 mins.
Seville 1 hr 50 mins.
Cordoba 1hr 30 mins.

Further details
The local village of Colmenar has ample shops for day to day needs together with numerous bars and restaurants, a weekly market and 24 hr clinic. Two banks with cash machines can also be found in the main square. Large hypermarkets can be found in Velez Malaga and Malaga.

About the owner
I am an engineer and my wife is a teacher. Our children are of school age.

Year purchased: 2005

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We first saw the land in February with the trees covered in stunning almond blossom. Having bought the land we designed the house and got a local builder to construct it for us. It now has very fond memories for my wife and our children who adore visiting the property either in the summer to roam free around the land or in Winter to go skiing at the Sierra Nevada or exploring Andalucia.
