This house’s spectacular hillside location overlooks the delightful spa town of Lanjaron and enjoys fabulous views over the conjunction of the Alpujarra and Lecrin valleys. On the horizon the Mediterranean glitters, you may just see Africa on a clear day. Beyond the grounds, wonderful walks rich with birdlife and wildflowers wind in every direction. Uniquely the villa features two living spaces side by side allowing guests an extra degree of independence and privacy. The main house has a bedroom, bathroom and main living/kitchen area, whilst a few steps away, two more bedrooms are provided in the adjoining casita. This cosy spot has its own bathroom, and both feature pretty wood burning stoves. The shaded terrace is a great place to share meals and conversation, breathe the exceptional air and simply unwind. On the terrace below, the private pool is a delight in the heat of the day - or after dark under a starry sky. A great place to rest and renew.

Changeover day
Saturdays, but can be flexible. Departure time before 11am. Arrival time after 4pm.

Notes on accommodation
Out of town regions here typically take advantage of solar power to provide electricity. The system runs most normal appliances eg. washing machine, TV, CD player, lighting etc.
Pure Lanjaron spring water is used for drinking.
We regret, the mountain location is unsuitable for small children.

Outside
Tables and chairs are provided on the large terrace for eating out and relaxing. On the lower terrace is a newly installed 6m x 4m filtered pool with shower and poolside furniture. The pool, and surrounding terraces and garden (over an acre) are for the sole use of visitors.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of the Costa Tropical are 35 minutes away by car. Salobrena has a long clean beach. Further west is the attractive resort of La Herradura with its shops and marina, and a few kms further is the lively seaside resort of Nerja, popular with British holiday makers.
Golf
Golf course in Granada 35 mins, and Motril 35 mins. Numerous other courses along coast.
Skiing
Granada's popular ski resort Solynieve is only an hour's drive away, and is open between November and April.
Travel
Nearest airport is Granada, barely an hour from the house. Monarch and Ryanair offer good deals. Malaga airport is almost 2 hours away with good links to all destinations.
Note. The drive to Lanjaron is straightforward. Thereafter around half the remaining 10 minute journey is on narrow unmade track, ok for ordinary hire cars, but steep and winding in places. This is mountain country!
Distances
The house is a 10 minute drive from Lanjaron.
North: Granada 35 minutes. Sierra Nevada ski slopes 1 hour.
South: Costa Tropical - Salobrena & Motril 35 minutes.
East: Alpujarran White Villages are around 1 hour away. Orgiva 20 minutes. West: Malaga & Cordoba are both a 2 hour drive.
Further details
Lanjaron has banks, bars, cafes, restaurants, all kinds of shops - in particular the best bread shop in the world. The spa in Lanjaron is called the Balneario and offers all kinds of theraputic treatments as well as freely flowing mineral water at various 'fuentes'. Local activities are many and include horse riding, trekking, climbing, alternative therapies and winter sports. Further afield are a number of good language schools. The vibrant city of Granada is teaming with interest and the wonderful Alhambra Palace and Gardens must not be missed.

A deposit of 25% is required at time of booking with the balance due at least one month before arrival. Longer stays considered in low season, let us know your requirements.
