Set in its own olive grove with stunning views of rural Spain, this is the perfect spot for your holiday away from it all...Casa de Afufa means house of retreat and if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life to rest and recuperate, then this is the place. Our house is an old Spanish farmhouse set in its own olive grove overlooking the lake at Iznajar, with vistas that will take your breath away.

Living Rooms: Dining room. Sitting room with satellite TV, DVD and surround sound cinema system. Also a selection of videos, CDs, DVDs, books, magazines and board games. A cable is provided for iPod attachment.

Notes on accommodation
The house is typically rural Spanish and has the original stone cottage attached, which has been fully renovated providing 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite). With the major work performed by an English stone mason, the character and many of the original features, like the olive beams throughout downstairs, have been maintained and restored.

The entire house has just been re-painted and newly furnished, so it is clean and comfortable with big squashy yellow leather sofas in the lounge.

Electricity, gas and water, along with logs for the wood burner in the winter, are provided at no additional cost.

No pets without prior consent.

Outside
On the terraces there are 3 patio tables, chairs, permanent shade and sun loungers, as well as barbecues ... in short, everything you need for serious tanning, siesta-ing and relaxing.

The 11m private pool (exclusively for guest's use) is stunning, so you can swim, play and relax in complete privacy.

Coast/Beach
There is a sandy beach on the lake. To get there, cross the 2nd bridge at Iznajar (approximately 5 minutes) and turn immediately left. The road down to the beach is on the left just after the sign that the road ends in 300m.

Golf
The world famous golf courses of the Costa del Sol are only an hour away and those of the Costa del Golf, including Valderrama, Sotogrande and San Roque, are about 1½ hours away.

The nearest course to the house is Antequera which is stunning. All 18 holes are challenging with plenty of water, narrow fairways, olive trees lining the first cut and subtle borrows on the greens. There are many interesting holes, a few spectacular ones and the views around the course are wonderful.

There is also a members club at Granada, set under a fabulous backdrop of the snow covered Sierra Nevada, which allows visitors to play during the week.

Both Antequera and Granada green fees are considerably lower than on the coast and the courses are better than most public courses on the Costa.

Skiing
The ski resort of Sol y Nieve is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is the most southerly ski resort in Europe and is small in comparison with other European resorts. It has numerous runs, of varying difficulties, to satisfy all skiing desires.

The season is December to April. The resort hosted the 1996 world ski championships.

The Sierra Nevada resort is only 45 minutes drive from Granada city, so about 1½ hours from the house.

Travel
Malaga airport 50 minutes.
Granada airport 40 minutes.
Car hire is essential.

Distances
We are located in the very heart of Andalucia; only 25 minutes from the ancient city of Antequera, 50 minutes from Malaga airport, less than 1 hour from Granada and approximately 1.5 hours from Seville. The house overlooks the lake at Iznajar where you can swim, sail or fish.

Further details
There is a beach on the lake where you can swim, rent pedalos and canoes, windsurf and learn to sail. It tends to be busy on Sundays but very quiet during the week. The water is beautiful to swim in and the beach has sand to lie on or for children to play in.

The lake reportedly provides excellent course fishing. Many competitions are held along its banks. It is just over a quarter of a kilometre to walk through the olive groves and on down the lane to the lake or you can take the car down very close to the water.

A 'Meet and Greet' service covers the initial arrival and collection of keys, and the cleaning of the house between visitors. There is a full information pack in the house listing directions to shops and restaurants.
