Coast/Beach
Los Alcazares (pronounced 'los-alcatha-res') is situated in the Murcia region of Spain (Costa Calida). The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a huge saltwater lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. The area enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each year to it's blue flag beaches. Bars, cafes and restaurants provide drinks, tapas, meals and entertainment, and the warm water of the Mar Menor (averages 1-3 degrees warmer.
Golf
There are around 7 golf courses in the area catering for all handicap levels, within 20-30 minutes drive and several are of international standard, including Villarmartin and La Manga. Currently 2 new golf courses are under construction on the outskirts of Los Alcazares, which are within a 5 minutes drive away.

Further details
The gently sloping shallow waters of the Mar Menor mean it is warmer than the Mediterranean, making it safer for young children as it is very placid and there is very good visibility across the water. You can walk out for many metres with the warm water still only lapping your thighs and no big waves or strong currents, so you can relax and enjoy your day at the beach. With the many cafes and bars dotted along the beach it's a great way to spend the day and soak up the sun. Every kind of water sport is available! The mineral-rich water of the Mar Menor is renowned for its health-giving properties and there are nearby thermal baths which have existed since Roman times. The very salty water in the Mar Menor lagoon (San Pedro round to La Manga) is supposed to be very good to bathe in, especially for skin conditions. Many people come to the northern end of the Mar Menor to cover themselves in the black mud from the salinas, which is supposed to be full of all sorts of nutrients.

Payment in full or a deposit of 20% secures booking. Full payment due 4 weeks before departure when full instructions will be forwarded. Linen, towels and electricity are provided. For clarification over rates please email with enquiry. Negotiable rates for longer lets in quiet periods. £50 refundable damage/loss of keys bond is required with final payment, which will be repaid following agent’s report. Airport transfers by our local agent can also be arranged if required.
