La Herradura is the jewel of the Costa Tropical of Andalucia, so called because it has hot summers and warm winters allowing the local growth of tropical fruit. This seafront apartment has 2 bedrooms and can sleep 4. It is situated on the 3rd floor with a wide balcony affording fabulous views across this beautiful bay. The building is the width of the promenade from the beach and close to all amenities.

Notes on accommodation
Satellite TV with basic free to air radio and TV channels. DVD player with 2 rental shops within a minutes walk.
The 2 bedrooms are equipped with oil storage heaters and there is a large heater for the living room. 2 large fans available for the summer. Pets not allowed. The building has a lift.
Coast/Beach
The beach is seconds away.
Travel
Malaga airport is 60/75 minutes drive.
Car hire is recommended, although there is a bus service from Malaga.
There are a number of new parking restrictions in the village that vary over the year. These range from virtually unrestricted during out of season months to very limited parking during the high season. Please contact us for details.
Further details
La Herradura is quiet most of the year but gets very bustling during the Spanish holiday period of late July and August.
19th March is St. Jose (patron saint of La Harradura) and the fiesta usually extends into the nearest weekend. The whole village goes slightly mad and there is a funfair on the beach opposite the apartment. Great fun but not if you were hoping for a quiet week or to get to bed before 3 or 4 am! Probably best avoided by anyone other than serious party animals.
There is plenty to do locally – sailing, windsurfing, scuba-diving or just lazing around.
The evenings offer a wide variety of restaurants from the chiringuita on the beach and a dozen or more along the promenade to little back street bars. The old town offers quaint streets to explore and for the energetic there are plenty of walks in the surrounding hills. The spectacular mountain scenery of the Alpujarras is only an hours drive away.
La Herradura has a good variety of shops including supermarkets, bakers and the covered market on the seafront offering fresh produce every day. For more varied shopping the towns of Nerja and Almunecar are in easy reach.
We have a local property manager (Simon & Susan Yard-Young) who have an office just a few metres from the apartment. They speak English, Spanish and German and are available for information or to deal with any small problems that may arise.
