This spacious vacation rental offers two bedrooms with large beds (1.5 x 1.9m), formal dining room, salon with television, dvd & vcr, satellite, large bathroom with sunken tub, refrigerator, hot pot, and coffee maker The large terrace above the Casa Cueva offers spectacular views of the Alhambra Palace, Sierra Nevada, and Generalife across the whitewashed Albaycin. The multiple terraces provide for relaxing siestas or place to share a bottle of local wine. From the top terrace there are views; the top having spectacular Alhambra & Generalife views backdropped by the snowcapped Sierra Nevada. The apartment includes linens, towels, and acess to terraces and the traditional patio (interior courtyard). There is a single double-sized sofabed available in the living room.

Brand new (2006) apartment of two floors: downstairs features marble floors, handcrafted wood furniture, large bed (150 x 190), kitchenette, 20" flat screen TV with digital receiver, cd player/stereo, 2-piece bathroom across the small interior courtyard. Upstairs loft can serve as living room or bedroom, and has cushioned sleeping area, and bathroom with shower, window with Albaycin views. The apartment has access to two terraces, one large one with spectacular Alhambra and Sierra Nevada views, as well as the charming interior patio. Rental of this unit can easily be combined with the Casa Cueva (subject to availability).

Notes on accommodation
All apartments feature all-cotton linens and towels, free WiFi access, tasteful decoration with original art & antiques, spacious rooms, handcrafted solid wood furniture, central location within walking distance to all of Granada's major historical and cultural attractions, satellite or digital TV, enchanting terraces. Both apartments can be combined to sleep up to 10 persons. Access to a professional kitchen across the patio is optional. Cooking classes offered seasonal through the Mediterranean Cooking School.
Outside
Casa Azahar features a large terrace with Alhambra views, a smaller rooftop terrace with a potted herb & flower garden, and an interior courtyard with fountain, trees, and garden. Outside the back door is Parque San Miguel.

Skiing at Sierra Nevada about 1 hour by car.

Distances
The apartments are within walking distance to the Alhambra and Albayzin, UNESCO World Heritage Site, cafes, bars, ATMs, flamenco venues, restaurants, and downtown Granada. The Alhambra entrance is about a 20-minute walk. The Albaycin with charming restaurants and cafes, and Sacromonte with its many flamenco venues, are at your doorstep.
Further details
The Albaycin is the ancient Arab district of Granada, and has a variety of shops, food markets, cafes, bars, restaurants, and historic sites. Nearby Sacromonte is the ancient Gypsy quarter and home to flamenco. Escuela Carmen de Las Cuevas, a school for Spanish language, flamenco music, and culture is two blocks away.
