If you are looking for a modern, well equipped villa in a secluded but convenient location, then Casa Velsheda should be perfect for you and your family to have a very relaxing holiday. The rear of the house and the pool is very secluded, has the benefit of being south facing and nothing overlooking you to spoil your enjoyment. We have a large sun terrace which provides shade for the hotter parts of the day and for your outdoor dining. The upper terrace is perfect for your evening drinks and to admire the fantastic uninterrupted views towards the Montes De Malaga National Park. Casa Velsheda sits within 2.5 acres of sloping ground covered with Olive and Almond trees. This is all fenced with a gate and entry phone to add to your complete privacy. Access to the villa is only 200 yards off tarmac road. This can be very important as some villas can be a number of kilometres down unmade tracks, which could possibly spoil your enjoyment of staying in this beautiful area of Spain.

Notes on accommodation
The villa keeps very cool inside during the hot days with the window blinds down and we have found that is not always necessary to have the air conditioning running. The pool measures 8m x 4m and was designed to make it suitable for young children and also for adults to sit in and cool down. The shallow end extends for one and a half metres and is only half a metre deep before it shelves away to two metres. The pool also has underwater lighting for the evenings.
There is a large terrace area around the pool with seating and dining area also an upper sun terrace for you to get the most from the sun and which gives you even more spectacular views of the land all around.
The whole of the terrace area is walled and gated.
Keypad safes are located in two of the wardrobes to enable you to leave valuables at the villa instead of taking everything with you when you go out.
Accessibility
Although not specially adapted for wheelchair use the villa is a one storey building. The immediate outside area is all flat and level with paving completely surrounding the villa. The only area which would not be accessible is the upper terrace which is accessed by steps.
Outside
We have a shaded outdoor area with table and seating which has lighting for dining in the evening. Steps lead up to the upper sun terrace where there is a table and seating providing far reaching views in all directions. Additional sun loungers, chairs and tables are situated around the pool. There is also a large sunshade which can be moved for your convenience. We also have the essential gas barbecue grill as you will probably find you will use this more than preparing your meals in the kitchen.
Coast/Beach
Beaches 40 mins drive - To the East - the beach town of Torre Del Mar which has a long promenade to walk along with beach cafes and restaurants. This can be reached by driving past the lovely lake at Vinuela and through the traditional Spanish town of Velez Malaga.
The Water Park "Aqua Velis" at Velez Malaga is a 30mins drive and is opposite the Eroski shopping centre. To the West - Torremolinos, well known to most, with its long stretch of beach with numerous beach cafes and restaurants.

Further details
Our local town of Colmenar (only 2km from villa) can provide most facilities: Banks, traditional bars and restaurants, supermarket, small shops and a petrol station. The local market day is on Thursday. Colmenar is a typical rural Spanish town with steep streets and white painted houses. With lots of little bars tucked away with their own individual character.
Larger supermarkets within shopping malls can be found approx 30 mins away in Velez Malaga or Antequera. Horse riding can be arranged locally, which a number of our guests have enjoyed. A good way of spending some time exploring the ancient tracks which crisscross our area and is available for all abilities.
