The apartment is a bright and modern home with a south/west facing balcony-benefitting fully from the afternoon sun. It is well funished with all mod-cons; satellite TV (English channels), CD, DVD, microwave. The grounds are very well kept and provide a relaxing poolside experience. The all-year-round sunshine (over 3000 hours) and the lowest rainfall in Europe, makes it a great winter holiday as well as a fantastic summer break. It is only a 40 minute drive from Almeria airport and has good golfing facilities on the doorstep. Roquetas de Mar has a wealth of restaurants, bars and 4* & 5* hotels which welcome visitors. There is a real "Spanish" feel to the town and you can get some fabulous Tapas in many of the Bars.

Notes on accommodation
Being a second floor apartment provides wonderful views over the pool from the balcony, and of the mountains from the front entrance. The gated front door allows the the door to be left open and the breeze to blow through the apartment on a warm summer day.

Outside
Gardens are very well kept and considered some of the best in the area. The pool is shared between the occupents of the small complex and is invariably very quiet. There is an outside toilet, childrens pool and shower.
Coast/Beach
Roquetas de Mar is the foremost tourist location on the Costa Almeria and is where the Spanish holiday. The beach is a 4 minute walk from the apartment and has a wonderful promenade stretching for about 3 kms along the beach front down to the harbour. The beach has many delightful bars and restaurants and you can hire sunbeds from most of the 'hotel' sections that have sun loungers (approx 3 euros per day). The beach is very deep and long which means that even in the summer it is never crowded.
Golf
There are some local courses, one of which is a 2 minute drive away.
Skiing
Spain has a very liveley and exciting ski resort which is set in the Sierra Nevada Mountains - just over a 2 hour drive away. The season is from October to April (average) which means you could ski in the morning and sunbath in the afternoon!
Travel
The nearest airport is Almeria, which is about 40 minutes drive away (apprex. 30 euros in a cab). Flights also go to Alicante and Murcia - about a 2 hour drive. Once in the resort is is not necessary to have a car. There are local supermarkets and everyting you could want just a few minutes away. If you need to go further afield there are plenty of taxis of car hire companies.
Distances
The apartment is in the heart of Roquetas de Mar. Almeria is the nearest "big" town which is about 40 minutes away by car.
Further details
There are so many things to do in Roquetas de Mar that you will not need to leave the resort. If, however, you want to venture further afield, some do travel the couple of hours to Granada or up into the Sierra Nevada Mountains (skiing available).
In the summer months, there is a very popular water park that children love just on the edge of the town, and, of course, the famous 'bull ring'!
