The course (designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.) is of championship quality and hosts many Spanish Opens. As well as golf, you can go to one of the local motor racing events, watch one of country’s top teams play football, or take in the sailing events as Valencia hosts The Americas Cup in 2007. If you just want to relax, why not enjoy the peaceful Valencian countryside including beautiful nature walks and horse riding at the nearby equestrian centre, or just go to the beach. Historically and culturally rich, Valencia is now firmly established on the European art circuit with many galleries, and is home to one of Spain's greatest festivals, Las Fallas. The main tourist attraction is the amazing City of Arts and Sciences, which is fascinating to adults and children alike, and being the home to paella there are a wide choice of restaurants.

Further details outdoors: El Bosque (The Forest) is a private residential area with security-guarded entrance to the exclusive housing development surrounding the famous Open standard golf course. Peaceful, wooded hillside location with wonderful views of golf course and surrounding countryside. Local Tennis Club and Equestrian Centre. Remote electric door leads to private garage for 2 cars. 2 spacious terraces. The house including garage is split over 4 floors ensuring privacy if required, however probably not suitable for disabled guests because of the stairs, although ramps are prevalent throughout the development. Communal pool with separate children’s area.

Two separate terraces with barbecue facilities. Upstairs lounge leading to terrace with outstanding views of golf course and surrounding countryside. Upstairs terrace furnished with 2 loungers and 2 chairs and a table.

Coast/Beach
Malvarrosa; the primary urban beach par excellence in Valencia. Wide and open, with fine golden sand, it is very popular because of the quality and quantity of services offered along the waterfront, offering a multitude of quality restaurants and cafés. Cabañal-Arenas; a fine, golden sand beach with numerous amenities including a wide range of water sports and amusement areas for children. It is one of the most busy areas for night life from April through to October.
Golf
Club El Bosque: This is a championship quality course located west of Valencia and designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, it’s a picturesque, undulating 18 hole course with narrow fairways, 4 lakes and meanders across hills and gullies, requires skilful play. To make par is a challenge.
Club de Golf El Saler: Part of the Albufera Nature Park designed by Javier Aranan, on the southern outskirts of the city, alongside the Mediterranean coast. It is a long and demanding course with wide greens, with sand dunes, pine trees and more than 90 bunkers. One of the top European courses.
Club de Golf Manises: The oldest of Valencia’s clubs, a nine hole course, Golf Manises is virtually beside the airport and is a relatively simple course, less challenging than many and suitable for the less mobile and beginners.
Mediterraneo Golf Club: A varied and pleasant course located only 6 kilometres from the sea in a valley amidst the mountains; the fairways are lined with olive trees.
Special interest holidays
Keen Location for Motorsports at the nearby Ricardo Tormo circuit in the village of Cheste. All year long the circuit plays host to all manner of motor racing events including Super Bikes and Touring Cars.
The racetrack is also home to Formula 1 pre-season testing. Teams such as Ferrari, Renault, BAR Honda, BMW Sauber, Williams and Toyota set up their crews for weeks of heavy testing.
Additionally Valencia’s inaugural Grand Prix 24/08/08 will run on the city streets and along the picturesque port and this is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of Spain’s most vibrant cities. Spain’s third city is now geared up for sporting events on a grand scale having recently, and successfully, hosted the America’s Cup. The seafront has been revitalised and is now ready for this new race on a new circuit and we are all really looking forward to it!

Fly to Valencia Airport directly. El Bosque Villa is 10 mins in a taxi or hire car away. Taxis are plentiful and reasonable. Cheap flights available from Stansted on Ryan Air. Prices range from £29 return including taxes and charges to approx £120 depending on time of year. Fly to Murcia or Alicante and Valencia is 2hr drive, Ryanair and Easyjet fly directly from most UK airports. Several car hire firms at airport, I like to book in advance through www.holidayautos.com
