Further details
A basic welcome pack of food and information will be provided on arrival. Special requests can usually be catered for, such as health foods and organic produce, even celebratory honeymoon packs! Owners live nearby and provide on site maintenance and regular pool cleaning and are able to offer helpful local information and booking advice, enabling you to maximise your enjoyment of this special area. Babysitting negotiable.
Orgiva has a selection of banks, internet cafes, shops, health food shops, bars, restaurants and an impressive Baroque church. Every Thursday there is a colourful market with local produce, arts and crafts, something for everybody. There is very much an ‘alternative’ feel here, why not pamper yourself by booking one of the many complementary health treatments available, such as massage, aromatherapy, reiki, or iridology? There is also an English mobile hairdresser!
The area is perfect for climbers, walkers, cyclists, ornithologists, artists and photographers alike. The network of walks linked by the GR7 and old mule trails which lead through the national parks, can often lead to a sighting of a soaring golden eagle and an abundance of wild flowers. Bolted and free climbing are available within a 10 min drive (the local ibex likely to be your only spectators) or further choice available in the surrounding areas. Alternatively, experience the breathtaking beauty of the mountains on horseback, 2-8 hour rides available, or, for those who prefer wheels, quad and mountain biking is an option. Paintballing, archery and paragliding can also be booked locally. For the more tranquil moments, consider taking the waters at the spa town of Lanjaron 12km away, the Moroccan Baths in Granada, or visit the Buddhist Monastery of Osel Ling where planned retreats are possible.
