Accessibility
Easy access from road to front building door but 2 short flights of stairs to apartment.
Outside
Large south and east facing peaceful terrace with unequalled breathtaking views over the beach, sea, coastline and mountains. Large patio table with 6 chairs, reclining cushioned sunbeds with soft head cushions, parasols & gas bbq. Attractive planting with Yucca, Hibiscus, Geraniums etc.
A large easy access freeform pool is only a few steps away with showers, toilet/changing rooms, sun loungers and parasols.Very pleasant peaceful walks can be had immediately from the building. A pair of binoculars are provided to see the many different types of birds and butterflies along the hillsides and to enjoy the views from the terrace including fishing boats, cruise ships and if you are lucky, dolphins. Free parking right outside.
Coast/Beach
10 minutes downhill walk to the beach (uphill back), although free and easy parking beside it.
This part of the Costa Del Sol boasts many blue flag beaches with the most famous, Burriana, offering water sports.
Skippered yacht hire from Marina Del Este on board English owned 10 metre Suki 2.
Gorgeous national park coastline.
Golf
Golf at 'La Baviera Golf' just 15 minutes along the motorway towards Malaga.
Travel
Malaga is the nearest airport, approx 35 miles by motorway.
Granada is about 60 miles by new motorways and coast road but is becoming more popular as it is cheap to fly into (Ryanair).
A car is essential. Contact to a reliable English run car hire firm available on request.
Distances
Nerja town 5 minutes, Torrox 5 minutes.
Places locally to visit - Frigiliana, a lovely white painted cobbled street hill village. The caves of Nerja, unbelievable formations. The Balcon de Europe and old Nerja town.
If you like mountain scenery a must is the fantastic skyline drive up the Sierra Almijara mountains.
Day trip to Granada, the Alhambra Palace, one of the regions most famous attractions.
Marbella and Puerto Banus, see the millionares yachts and look around the old town.
Further details
Nerja has been described as the jewel of the Costa del Sol, having avoided the modern concrete development that has ruined much of the Costa. Still very Andalucian with a quaint old town with cobbled streets and interesting shops, Nerja is a gourmets paradise offering a very wide choice of restaurants for all pockets. A walkers paradise, the area offers coastal and mountain scenery not equalled along the Costa, yet has 16kms of fabulous blue flag beaches for the sun and sea lover.Fishing is a popular pastime along this stretch of coast and Wilchez beach below has good rock points to cast from or directly from the beach.Snorkelling is also very good from Wilchez beach and for the qualified scuba diver there are clubs in Nerja and most of the nearby resorts with excellent diving along the national park beyond Maro.
For those wishing to explore inland the scenery is equally impressive and well worth seeing, a good Michelin map is provided. Please ask for suggestions regarding day trips.
