A recently restored farmhouse accommodating up to 6 people. 3km from the town of Orgiva. Facing Alpujarras and the Sierra Nevada, it has stunning views through an orchard of oranges, lemons, apricots, figs, olives, almond and walnut trees. The vine shaded terrace overlooks a 5m x 8.65m swimming pool. Dramatic and beautiful, it is ideal for families, birdwatchers, walkers and those just wishing to relax.

Changeover day
Ideally Saturday, arrival after 4.00pm hours, departure before 10.00am hours local time. However we try our best to accommodate alternative days through out the year to help reduce costs.

Bedrooms: 3 bedrooms (1 double, and 2 twin) well furnished. All have ample storage and include chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps.
Bathrooms: Large bathroom, fully tiled with bath ,bidet and shower.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer.
Living Rooms: Sitting room/dining room overlooking the pool comfortably furnished with 2 sofas, table and chairs, CD/radio and log burner and oil fired heaters for those cosy ,cooler spring and Autumn nights.

Linen and towels are provided but not beach/pool towels.

An arrival pack containing immediate essentials plus an information pack will be waiting for you to start your holiday off on the right note.There is ample car parking on the gated drive. Sorry no pets allowed.

Outside
Decide whether to be in sun or shade, use the swimming pool, barbecue, sit under the vines, use the sunloungers or potter around the orchard.

Coast/Beach
The long beaches of the Mediterranean and the Costa Tropical are 30 minutes away with Salobrena the closest resort. Several resorts have sailing boats for hire.

Travel
Malaga airport is approximately 1.75 hours drive. Directions will be given on booking. Hiring a car is essential. Shop around for the best deals, there are many car hire companies at Malaga airport. The owner may be able to give advice at time of booking.

Further details
The cortijo is on the outskirts of the small village of Tablones surrounded by often snow tipped mountains and on the side of the Sierra Lujar, it is the owner's Spanish home and is not a ‘tourist trap’. During your tenure you will have sole occupancy of the property. However, in the owner's absence, the property is maintained by a local English couple who will help with any queries about that you may have.

At the heart of rural Spain, sheep are walked past the gate usually twice a day. In the spring the orange and almond blossom scent mingles with jasmine in a heady mix. There are 2 small bars in the village and a small friendly shop and the cortijo is only 5 minutes/3km by car away from Orgiva with its many bars, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, chemist, petrol stations, medical centre, health store, discos during the summer months, internet cafe, a Thursday Market and Tourist Information Centre. Relaxing by the pool can be interrupted by sight-seeing, with Granada and the famous Alhambra Palace built by the moors only 45 minutes away, the ‘white villages’ of the Alpujarras/Sierra Nevada in view from the house, echoing the Moorish past. A drive up to one of these through deep cut valleys for a little light lunch is a must. Lanjarron is a famous spa town 10 minutes away. A hire car or your own vehicle is an essential.

Live your dream, walk for miles on mountain tracks taking in the scenery, go horse-riding or mountain-biking.In Spring and Summer,watch the hoopoes or catch a glimpse of golden orioles and the occasional soaring eagle whilst sitting in the shade of the terrace. Enjoy the warm evening with a cool drink, star gazing by the pool. You will find this area of Andalucia with its clean air and ‘wall to wall’ sunshine needs constant revisiting!

If you are coming to stay as part of a tour of Spain, the owner may be able to offer some advice having spent the last 5 years visiting and touring Spain on a motorbike.

Booking notes
A non-returnable deposit of £100 is required at time of booking. Full payment 6 weeks prior to arrival to include a refundable deposit of £50 to cover breakages.

Guest comments
In the house there are books of guests comments both by adults and children on their holiday ,with useful tips on where to visit. Many of our guests return to futher sample and enjoy that 'away from it all' feeling.
