Gran Alacant, where our holiday rental 3 bedroom apartment is situated, is a mainly residential area and therefore perfect for families. Monte Y Mar Gran Alacant is just a 10 minute drive from Alicante airport. The apartment is 800 metres away from the beautiful unspoilt sands of a EU Blue Flag beach which stretches all the way along to Alicante. Gran Alacant is a low key area and Monte Y Mar offers the best of both worlds. The apartment is close to bars, restaurants & supermarket. Night life in Gran Alacant is low key with the emphasis on good food and good wine with more than 50 bars and restaurants to choose from. From simple snacks at The White Rose, superb Indian food at Saffron, big pizzas and salads at Cocoa and D’Ricardos to the intimate surroundings of El Rincon de MonteMar, every taste is well and truly catered for, and at good prices as well. Nearby Santa Pola has a good selection of restaurants from simple tapas bars to the highly recommended Batiste by the quayside.

20 mins away you’ll find Alenda Golf, as well as Alicante Golf - this Ballesteros designed course is a true Championship style course located near to the beach and is just 25 mins away from Gran Alacant. The El Plantio Golf Club is the only one in the region that boasts two golf courses. The first is the stunning 18 holer, the second is a quaint 9-hole course which is only 10 minutes away from Gran Alacant. Mountain golf is also just off your doorstep. The Bonalba golf course in the Bonalba mountains overlooks the Mediterranean and is just 35 minutes away from Gran Alacant. If for the views only, this is one you must experience.

Gran Alacant has plenty to offer those looking for a relaxing holiday and also those looking for something a bit more active. With easy access to Alicante city and the excellent motorway network, there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. Less than 40 minutes by car is the exciting Terra Mitica theme park just outside Benidorm. Also for children at Benidorm is the superb water park Aqualandia which is next to Mundomar the sea life centre. Santa Pola offers many fine fish restaurants and for the keen angler there are organised sea fishing trips. There is also scuba diving available.
