Set amidst olive groves with fountains, water channels and a naturally filtered swimming pool, Lucena Alta is designed as a mountain getaways for independent travellers and families. The main farmhouse, Lucena Alta and the converted wine press next door have been restored using traditional building methods and ancient reclaimed materials with simple interiors. There are unhindered sea views from the roof terrace and the shaded garden terraces face the rolling hills to the east. We offer extras for your holiday to make it one to remember. You can choose from: Being met at the airport, full catering, a Spanish tapas night, guided day tour of the axarquia (including hot springs), yoga teacher. We have been renting the properties for the past 8 years and have many many return guests.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property(s) per week in euros.
We will consider short breaks (3 nights) or splitting up weeks (e.g. 10 days or 18 days). We give pro rata rates for extra days. Please email with enquiries. Last minute bookings (within 2 weeks of departure) 15% discount.

Changeover day
Flexible, but Saturdays during high summer. Arrival and departure times by arrangement but usually check in after 3pm, check out before 10am. Early and late flights can be accommodated for. There's a 50 eur supplement for guests arriving after 10.00pm.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
We welcome families and children of all ages. There are garden and pool toys at the houses, trees to climb and many adventures to be had on the surrounding hillsides.

Amenities/Facilities provided

 

Outside
Private gardens and a small private swimming pool (5x2.5x2m deep). There is a seating area around a fountain whose water runs down a channel in the garden and into the pool. The terraces are mentioned in the house details. Ample parking for three cars.

Coast/Beach
5 km to nearest beach (La Cala Del Moral)- 7 minutes by car. Dark sand - bars and seaside fish restaurants.

Golf
The Costa-del-Sol is also known as the costa-del-golf for the profusion of golf courses in the area. Many of these can be found to the west of Malaga (half an hour to an hour away) but many can be found more locally. Anoreta Golf club and Club de Golf el Candado are in Rincon de la Victoria (10 minutes).

Skiing
Skiing can be found in the Sierra Nevada in Granada. It takes about 2hrs 20 minutes from the houses to the slopes.

Special interest holidays
On site we can provide a yoga teacher to come every day, we can also organise jewellery workshop parties, guided tours of Malaga (speciality evening tapas tour of malaga) and the Axarquia. We can provide babysitting and airport meet and greet.
Locally, there are many many activities for visitors to the region including a profusion of water sports and excellent mountain biking and hiking opportunities.

Travel
Malaga Airport 25km (25 minutes). Car hire is essential. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the track. Buses go 2/3 times a day into Malaga.

Distances
Malaga 22km, Rincon de la Victoria 10km, Comares 16km, Granada 125km, Seville 235km.
The houses stand on the edge of the Axarquia and very close (10km) to the Montes de Malaga.

Further details
The local shops are in a seaside village called La Cala del Moral. There is also a Carrefour Hypermarket and commercial centre. They are both about 4km from the house. Lots of fish restaurants at the beach and even closer 3km is the outstanding 'RioSol' - if you are a meat lover, don't miss their summer all-you-can eat barbecues! At the bottom of the track is a country bar which is open for most summer evenings.

Booking notes
Email us for a booking form or to reserve your dates. Payment is by Pay Pal by credit or debit card. 50% deposit secures the booking and the remainder is paid one month before departure.

"Spent much more time at home than we were expecting to - it's nice here! Our four kids filled the pool almost permanently, except when they were reading several Harry Potters in parallel. We've never been to a rented house where there was simple tasteful furniture, a guitar and a chess set. It was hot, hot, hot and the patios were a godsend. We'll be back"

"Two weeks of sunshine and lazing around. Perfect setting for a very relaxing and restful holiday. Saw the chameleon and the eagles and the view from the top of the hill and spent many nights stargazing. Visited Comares (picturesque) and Nerja Market (Tues) which was very crowded. Fish restaurants on the beach in Pedragalejo and El Palo are well worth several trips especially El Tintero where you grab the dishes as the waiters carry them round" Caroline, Tony, Anne, William, Olivia, Richard, Sarah Jane
