The Apartment is perfectly located just a 3 minute walk from a sandy beach and marina at Caleta de Velez with Baviera 18 hole golf course a 5 minute drive away. Right outside the accommodation is a large open air swimming pool and tennis court for the use of guests only. Although not a large resort, Caleta has a number of cafes, bars and restaurants serving good local food (especially fish and seafood) all within walking distance. Shops and bank are also nearby. Those seeking a busier resort town can visit Torre del Mar, a 15 minute walk along the promenade, with another wide sandy beach in between. A wide range of restaurants, shops and nightspots are all here. Ever popular Nerja and Torrox are around 15 minutes drive.

Changeover day
Saturday in high season but flexible at other times - please ask. At busy times we request guests depart by 11.00am and check in is 14.30 earliest. Guests are normally met on arrival.

Notes on accommodation
3rd floor apartment, bright and secure in a 4 floor building with lift and intercom entry.
No busy roads to cross for beach access. Good for Children.

Accessibility
The apartment building has good access with ramp for persons with poor mobilty. Lift just inside the front entrance. If in doubt, please ask.
Outside
Large swimming pool (open summer only) with lifeguard. Tennis court. (both at no extra cost) Pleasure marina and fishing harbour a few minutes walk.
Coast/Beach
The sandy beach at Caleta is a 3 minute walk. Several beach bars less than 5 mins walk. Walking along the seafront promenade to Torre Del Mar takes around 15 mins with a wide sandy beach directly on your left. Torre is a larger resort busy with Spanish holiday makers in August. Restaurtants, bars and nightclubs cater for all tastes. Fish & Seafood eateries are plenty. Try Mexican & Thai food too.
Golf
18 hole Baviera golf course is less than 5 minutes away by car. No membership is required and all equipement can be hired.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort near Granada is Sol Y Nieve and is approx 90 minutes by car.
Travel
Malaga airport is 30 - 40 minutes drive.
Granada airport is 80 minutes drive. Both have several low cost airlines including easyjet, ryanair and monarch.
A car is not required as all facilities are within 500m of the apartment and a taxi or bus is available from the airport. However, there are many car hire companies at Malaga airport. Recommendations can be made by the owners if required.
Distances
Nerja with famous caves and sandy cove beaches is 15 mins drive. Lake Viñuela is 20 mins. Granada and the Alhambra Palace is approx 90 mins. Book online in advance. Antequera & Torcal National Park is approx a 1 hour drive. Seville and Cordoba are approx 2 hours by car. Marbella & Puerto Banus, West of Malaga, is approx 90 mins by car... sample the highlife with a day trip.
Further details
Town facilities include a hospital, modern shopping centre, cinemas, bowling, street market and waterpark and are all located in Velez Malaga some 10 minutes drive. Or go by tram from Torre del Mar. Boat trips and go-karts are also available. Bicycles can be hired in Torre del Mar. Horse riding is available on the beach nearby.
Caleta de Velez is a central coastal base from which to visit the most popular sights of Andalucia. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are just 90 mins away by car, with the Sierra Nevada Mountains & ski resort a short drive from Granada city centre. Seville can be reached in under 2 hours - well worth the effort! Malaga, with its culture including the Picasso museum, beaches and great shopping facilities, is around 30 minutes drive (bus service available from Caleta to Malaga city centre and Nerja).
