In the High Alpujarras of the Sierra Nevada there exists a splendid mountain cortijo with a beautiful, newly built, three story house of traditional Alpujarranean charm. The house consists of three double bedrooms (two en suite); three bathrooms; an open plan kitchen, dinning room & lounge; and a large swimming pool. The cortijo offers its guests fruit and vegetables from its bounteous organic garden and pure spring water from its fountains. The quaint Moorish town of Capileira is just over a km away and offers excellent restaurants, tapas bars, traditional shops and other amenities. From Capileira one can explore the other hillside towns and villages or trek up to the Mulhacen the highest peak of the Iberian peninsular. Whilst most other destinations in Spain endure sweltering summer heat the High Alpujarras remain pleasantly warm. So for a quiet, relaxing, retreat in this spectacular setting, rustic but with modern conveniences - Tierra y Nieve is your obvious choice.

Changeover day
Saturday changeover is much preferred with arrivals at 4.00pm and departures before 12.00pm. Other days can be arranged if necessary.

Living Rooms: Open plan living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room has two large sofas and chairs, coffee table, fireplace, Satellite TV, DVD and WI-FI hotspot allowing you to work on your laptop. It leads onto a large terrace with spectacular views.
Other: The bottom floor consists of a designer, open-plan bedroom with en suite bathroom with a large luxurious oval bath. The room leads out onto a private terrace with fountain

The house comes with an abandance of towels and linen and is cleaned every week. More regular cleaning can be arranged if required.

Notes on accommodation
The house has central heating throughout as well as a fireplace in the living room. Air-conditioning is not required as it is seldom too hot even in the middle of summer.

The house can accommodate a maximum of 3 couples and two children as it has three double beds and two single beds. Young children will need to be closily monitored in the pool area as it is not enclosed.

Outside
The two acre plot is terraced, it has a wild bush area at the top (part of the Sierra Nevada National Park) with a little stream leading down to a fountain, large deck area with a 12 meter swimming pool and a hot-water outdoor shower. Lower down is the abundant vegetable garden and fruit trees alongside the house. Each floor of the three story house leads onto private terraces the bottom one has a private fountain. There is also to a car port.

Coast/Beach
The cortijo is 50 minutes away from the Motril and Salobrena beaches on the Costa del Sol.

Golf
There are golf courses in Granada and Motril about 1.5 hours by car.

Skiing
The famous Sierra Nevada skiing resorts are 1.50 hrs away.

Special interest holidays
With spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada mountains (highest mountains in mainland Spain) and the Mediterranean, the Poqueira Gorge is one of the most dramatic features of the Alpujarras, with superb mountain country for walking, horse-trekking, mountain biking, paragliding, climbing and abseiling, canoeing, archery or simply relaxing. Spanish language, painting and flamenco classes can also be arranged.

Travel
Malaga airport is a 2.5 hour drive and Granada is 1.15 hour. Both airports have frequent flights from the major UK airports. Car hire is available from the airport and is highly recommended, although a daily bus connects Capileira with Granada.

Distances
1.5 km from Capileira (shopping, restaurants, bars); 4 km from Bubión, 20 km Órgiva (most facilities); Trevelez ˝hrs (the highest village in Spain), 1˝ hrs to Granada and the Alhambra; Costa Tropical 1˝ hrs; Málaga airport 2.5 hrs. There is also a Buddhist monastery which is a 30 minutes drive from the cortijo.

Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is to be paid when making your reservation, the remainder is required 4 weeks before arrival. Bookings made less than 4 weeks before arrival date will need to be paid in full with reservation.
