The house is full of character, with beams, large spacious rooms, comfortably furnished and is situated between the ancient white villages of Bubion and Capileira, high up in the Alpujarras (1350m above sea level). The snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains, the highest in Spain, are a spectacular backdrop to the villages: Mulhacen and Veleta, the main peaks, are over 3400m. The area is a Natural Park and offers wonderful scenery, walks, peace and tranquility. Bubion, 5 minutes walk, and Capileira about 15 mins (2km), are lively but traditional villages, with plenty of shops and restaurants. It is a wonderful base for exploring the area or an ideal place to just sit, relax and enjoy the pool and the surroundings.

Changeover day
Bookings will be from Saturday to Saturday normally, but please ask if you prefer another day - it may be possible, especially out of the peak season and for longer lets
Please arrive after 5pm and leave the house by 10am.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1. Large room with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Views to mountains and sea.
Bedroom 2. Large room with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, plus single bed suitable for child.
Bedroom 3. Double bed, hanging rail & shelves.
Bathrooms: Fully fitted bathroom with mixer tap and hand held shower fitting, between bedrooms 1 & 2 upstairs.
Fully fitted bathroom with good shower over bath, adjacent to Bedroom 3 on ground floor.
Kitchen: Large fully equipped kitchen/dining room, with gas oven and 5 burner hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and washing machine. Complete set of crockery, cutlery and range of utensils, pots and pans.
Living Rooms: Very large, comfortable lounge with satellite TV and CD/tape player, plus separate small TV with built in video player, which can be used in other rooms, so you can bring your favourite music and videos. Fireplace, with logs available locally.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and towels included, but please bring your own beach/pool towels. The house will be cleaned between lets.

 

Notes on accommodation
The house is more suited to adults and older children, and pets are not allowed. Please, no smoking in the house. There is central heating for winter lets, and a fireplace. Logs are available to buy locally. Gas bottles for the cooker and kitchen water-heater will be connected, but if you need more refills, please buy locally. Someone will be around to advise you where to obtain things you need.

Outside
The large pool is set in a lawned area where you can relax on the sun loungers provided and there is a large terrace with table and chairs for meals, shady spots for keeping cool and a barbecue. There is a large parking area/play space.

Coast/Beach
The coast at Salobreña is about an hours drive away, with many lovely and interesting places, including La Herradura, Marina del Este, Nerja and Almuñecar, to visit.

Golf
Golf courses are available at Motril and Granada, about an hour´s drive away.

Special interest holidays
The area offers wonderful walking, climbing, and horseriding, mountain biking and paragliding in spectacular surroundings.

Travel
Granada is the nearest airport, offering flights from London Gatwick (Monarch airlines) and Stansted (Ryanair) and other international airports. The drive to Bubion is via Lanjaron and takes about 1hr 15mins.
Malaga airport is about 2hr 15mins drive, along the spectacular coast road to Motril and then inland to Orgiva and up to Bubion.
Car hire is recommended as a bus service is available but limited.

Distances
Orgiva, the main town of the area, is 18km away and has banks, supermarkets, shops and restaurants and a large, lively market on Thursday mornings.
Granada, a lovely old city which is home to the famous and beautiful Palace of the Alhambra, is about 1hr 15mins drive and well worth a visit. (Prior booking essential for the Alhambra via website or phone)
Trevelez, the highest village in Spain, is about 25km and a lovely drive.
Pitres, about 8km, has a market on Friday.

Further details
Bubion and Capileira both within walking distance, offer good restaurants, bar/cafes, supermarkets with fresh bread and meat as well as wines and all everyday foods. Both have a range of shops, pharmacy, estanco for tobacco and stamps, crafts, ceramics, and there are ATM machines. Capileira has a handy fruit and veg market on Tuesday mornings.

Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is payable on making your reservation and the balance is due 6 weeks before your arrival, plus a refundable breakage deposit of £100.
Bookings made less than 6weeks before your arrival should be paid in full on reservation.
