The apartment is on the first floor in a small development of privately-owned apartments situated in the unspolit village of Tamariu. There are extensive views of the pine-wooded hillside from the sunny balcony. The apartment has its own underground parking space. Private gardens and a large pool are accessed by some steps at the rear of the property. Equally suitable for a couple or smaller family.

Fully equipped for up to eight people, including kitchen equipment. Bed linen provided and included in the price. Clean bed linen is available weekly. 1 bath and 1 hand towel provided for each occupant. Cleaning before and after occupancy.

Outside
There are very pleasant views from this balcony over the pine-covered hills which surround Tamariu (see photograph). Having a corner, first floor location, the apartment and balcony enjoy a very sunny position. The apartment is part of small three-storey complex, which share the use of a good-sized swimming pool with smaller paddling pool area, together with a floodlit tennis court (see photograph), which are accessed by steps at the rear of the apartment. A large lawned area surrounds the pool. The rest of the outside area consists of well-maintained gardens.
The apartments share an underground garage, with a designated parking space for our apartment.

Coast/Beach
500m walk to Tamariu's beach - a gently shelving, sandy cove surrounded by good quality restaurants, specialising in fresh, locally caught fish. Safe swimming area. Boats, pedalos, fishing trips and scuba diving available.

Golf
There are 4 high quality golf courses within 30 or less minutes drive.

Travel
1. Ferry, Hovercraft or Le Shuttle to Calais then drive through France to Spain (about 800 miles). A good motorway network exists through France and from the border in Spain to near Tamariu.
2. Scheduled flights - There are many, many choices of frequent daily flights to Barcelona (about 2 hours drive from Tamariu), Girona (about 45 minutes drive) and Perpingnan (just inside the French border). Cars can easily be hired from the airports or reasonably priced taxis taken from Girona.

Distances
The nearby town of Palafrugell, just a few kilometres away, and to which there is a bus service in high season, has a selection of supermarkets and vegetable, fruit, meat and fish markets every day except Monday. On Sunday, there is a very large and colourful market in the streets off the main square selling all the normal produce, often from small ‘cottage garden’ growers, plus shoes, leather, lace etc..
The main town square of Palafrugell offers a choice of open-air cafes to rest and enjoy.

Further details
Tamariu is a small unspoilt fishing village with a lovely sandy beach in the heart of a beautiful stretch of Spanish coastline. The rocky cliffs and small beaches, typical of this area, have kept the developers and large tour operators away. There are no high-rise hotels, no ‘English’ pubs or discos here. The first language of the area is Catalan rather than Spanish. However, basic English is understood by many locals. The main beach at Tamariu is extremely clean and nearly all sand. The water is crystal clear and ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The beach shelves at a fairly gentle angle and is safe for children. It is possible to hire small boats, canoes and pedalos. There is a scuba diving club on the sea-front. Coastal paths provide excellent opportunities for scenic walks and to visit the numerous coves. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars especially on the waterfront and in the village centre, which offer a good selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. On Saturday nights in July and August there are often musicians and entertainers playing on the promenade.

In Tamariu, there is one large grocery shop that sells almost everything, including fresh meat. For fresh bread and pastries, visit the patisserie situated halfway up the narrow street that leads from the middle of the beach. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always in plentiful supply.
