Los Olivos is set within the grounds of Finca El Gales, a 5 acre relaxed olive, almond and fig plantation located on the southern foothills of the Majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range. Los Olivos (the olive trees) has private access and its location offers our guests stunning 360 degree views. It is the perfect secluded location for a 'get away from it all holiday'. Only 15 minutes drive or a 40 minute walk to the busy market town of Orgiva, you can access some excellent restaurants, tapas bars, all amenities and the lively Thursday street market. Los Olivos is surrounded by various terraces, a private pool and large covered patio area with BBQ. Outside dinning furniture, sunloungers, shade and pool toys are provided. Mother Nature has provided the cleanest air in Europe, views to die for and the flora and fauna of Southern Spain (watch out for the eagles!). Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible, with arrival from 4pm onwards, guests are asked to vacate by 11am. Storage of luggage, late night arrivals, early arrivals can all be accommodated. Please call/email for arrival days or weekend prices.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have two singles, which can be dressed as superkings if required. Travel cots are available. All bedrooms are dressed for all seasons, including duvets and fans. All have built in wardrobes. |

All linen is provided, including sheets, duvets, towels, pool towels, teatowels etc. All linen is changed once a week. A laundry service is also provided if required. |
Notes on accommodation
We have tried to make Los Olivos as child friendly as possible. The fire has a 'babydan guard' which can be fitted or removed, the pool and terrace areas are fenced and gated, toys are provided. Also we can provide travel cots, booster seats/highchairs, car seats, and a pushchair with a carry cot-babysitting can be arranged. A welcome pack with essentials is provided. Los Olivos is totally "off grid", we use the suns energy for electricity (all appliances may be used) . ‘Max and Neo del campo’ live at the Finca (our lovely dogs) they've grown with our kids and are very friendly. We run an organic site, no chemicals are used on the olive and fruit trees or vegetables at all. Top quality single estate oil, seasonal vegetables and some fruit is available at various times of the year.

Outside
Los Olivos is situated on a 5 acre olive plantation so guests are free to roam, various fenced terraces around the house and pool are provided. A 50sqm covered patio with outside dining furniture, a BBQ and tools etc are provided. Sunloungers, plastic cups and plates are available for your use around the pool, which is completely private and not overlooked at all, and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The fully tiled pool is approx 7x4m and is open (weather permitting) from April to October. It is cleaned once a week and filtered every day in the evening. Los Olivos is on a private (only for use by guests) track some 400 meters from our house. As with most rural tracks in Spain they are bumpy in places but accessible by all cars. Our main track has just been concreted (Sep 2008) for the first km so its only 700m to our house and another 400ms to the guest house.
Coast/Beach
The Costa Tropical is 45 minutes by car from Los olivos (less when the motorway is complete). Generally grey sand pebble beaches and coves are to be found and most have beach bars, cafes, parasols etc. The larger resorts boast traditional palm tree promenades, nightlife, and excellent seafood is found everywhere. A full range of water sports can be found at the larger resorts. Naturism beaches are also close by.
Golf
Golf is growing rapidly in the region, the nearest course is at Motril, has 18 holes and is only 50 mins away. Granada has various courses and round of golf starts from about 38 euros.
Skiing
The Ski resort 'Sol y Nieve'(Sun and Snow) is one and half hours drive away and offers excellent skiing and snowboarding. It offers 45 ski runs of varying difficulty situated from 2000m to 3300m. All equipment may be hired at the resort, instruction can also be arranged. A daily lift pass (Jan 2007) costs from 31 to 38 euros. Depending on the weather sking is available from November to May. The resort is open all year and well worth a trip as a leisure and cultural programme is held every summer. The views are worth the trip alone.
Special interest holidays
Learning Spanish or English under the olive trees, is offered at any time of the year as Sonia is a qualified teacher. Los Olivos is an excellent location for bird watching (eagles, red kites, kestrels, bee eaters, swallows, hoopees, all visit Los Olivos), painting, and a whole world of alternative treatments-yoga, reflexology, aromatherapy etc are available in the area or at Los Olivos.
New for 2008, go green at Los Olivos, for every week long holiday we will plant 2 trees. Get the kids into it, carve a name and date plaque in olive wood from the finca for each tree with your childs name (all tools, help and instruction provided).
Travel
Granada international airport is just over an hour away, with flights from Gatwick, Stansted and Liverpool. Cheap deals are always popping up, the best we found was £11 return plus taxes.
Malaga is 2 hours away, less soon as the motorway is growing. Many good deals (BA, EJ) are also found here.
Car hire is essential to fully enjoy the area. We highly recommended carjet.co.uk. Many family, friends and guests have used the company with no problems, and fully comprehensive insurance is standard.

Granada city centre - 1 hour
Orgiva town centre - 15 minutes
Lanjaron (spa town)-25 minutes
The famous white villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira are 35 minutes
Ski resort - 1 hour 30 minutes
Motril town - 45 minutes, beaches 50 minutes
Further details
All Amenities can be found in Orgiva, a town which has grown in the last few years. A selection of good restaurants, bars, banks (cash points), medical centre, supermarkets etc.
A full range of activities are available also to include - Horseriding, hiking, birdwatching, alternative treatments, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, hang-gliding, canoeing, guided 4WD trips, guided quad biking, fishing or just sit by the pool with a book and a glass of wine.

To book a holiday at Los Olivos simply e-mail or phone a request for a booking form and to check availability. Your holiday will be confirmed on receipt of a completed booking form and a 25% non-returnable deposit. The balance will be required 6 weeks before your arrival date. In the case of a late booking, the full balance will be required at the time of booking.
