There are 2 supermarkets in the village and also many tapas bars, also 2 British bars serving excellent food where you will receive a very warm welcome.

Notes on accommodation
The El Palmeral apartments are situated in a small low rise complex of only 59 apartments. All properties have air conditioning and there are lifts and also a lovely pool with kiddies section. The Los Lomas houses have a community pool with kiddies section. The Villa cristal apartments have a pool and are situated in a low rise of 2 floors. We live in Los Nietos ourselves so that you will always have a point of contact. The sea is very shallow so is ideal for children.

All properties have patios or balconies and kitted out for outdoor living. A large swimming pool with separate kiddies section.

Los Nietos is a small fishing village on the shores of the Mar Menor. The beach is a 1 minute walk away. The Med beaches are 10 minutes drive away. Our nearest Med beach is the Calblanque nature reserve which is an unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty. September a great month for a holiday and to see the 8 day Roman fiesta in Cartagena.We will send you more information on this lovely area when you contact us.
Golf
The famous La Manga golf club with it's 3 golf courses and 28 tennis courts and health spa is 5 minutes away by car and numerous other courses within 30 minutes drive.
All with an interest in golf will automatically be eligible to play with the Los Nietos golf society, a good day out with good company.
Special interest holidays
The world health organisation has stated that this region of La Manga is one of the top healthiest regions on the planet.
Try the mud baths, the Spanish swear by them.
Travel
The nearest airport is Murcia (San Javier) which is a 20 minute drive away. Alternatively Alicante airport which is a 65 minute drive. Collection from airport if required. Car hire can be ordered through us at excellent rates, although there is a train service from Los Nietos to the main city of Cartagena. Why not get collected from Murcia airport (35 euros ) or from Alicante airport (80 euros plus tolls) and hire a car later on into the holiday. Hire cars can be ordered through us for you.
Distances
The main city of the area is Cartagena (an old Roman City) full of enchanting streets and a superb port area where cruise liners and pleasure boats make it their port of call. Los Nietos has several restaurants, both Spanish and British and the neighbouring village of Los Belones, which is a 3 minute drive, has a host of varied restaurants of international appeal. Calblanque nature reserve is 10 minutes drive away, totally unspoilt with beaches and coves to rival any in Europe.
Further details
Los Nietos is the only village with a local train to the main city of Cartagena (approx. 35 minutes) at a charge of 2.20 euros return. Los Nietos marina has a clubhouse (all welcome) and is home to many yachts and motor cruisers. The village has holiday homes belonging to the Spanish from Madrid and many other inland cities as they love to come to Los Nietos in the summer, so if you want a holiday where the Spanish holiday, this is the place to be (no yobs, no lager louts) you can feel very safe here.
Los Nietos has 2 restaurants that are run by British couples where a welcome is assured and obviously many Spanish restaurants and tapas bars.
The village has 3 small supermarkets which have all you would want. The sea is at the most 2 minutes walk away and is very safe for children. We ourselves live in Los Nietos for any help or advice that you might need.
On saturday nights throughout July and August there is dancing in the open air in the village (the Spanish know how to dance).
All in all this is a great place for a holiday unless you want the Benidorm's or the Malaga's.
Booking notes
The availability for these properties are left blank because we have other properties of equal quality available. We do not ask for full payment before your holiday, on booking a property a 20% deposit is required (paid into our British bank) and the balance to be paid in euros (at the then current rate of exchange) on arrival or why not pay by instalments. There is no extra to pay i.e. cleaning charges etc. If you need collection at the airport or even a hire car let us know.
