Los Limoneros is a beautiful guest house offering superb bed and breakfast accommodation with lunch and dinner optional extras. Set in a small hamlet on the outskirts of Padul, gateway to the Lecrin Valley, and just minutes drive away from the beautiful city of Granada, Sierra Nevadas and the Costa Tropical. The house nestles among vineyards, almond and olive groves and is adjacent to the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. The swimming pool has stunning views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You can also enjoy the beautiful gardens. It is a great location and whatever holiday activities you prefer you will find them within easy reach. The guest house is furnished to an extremely high standard; the guest bedrooms are air conditioned and central heated there is also a stylish lounge exclusively for the use of our guests. You can take a swim in the pool with the sun shining brightly in the clear blue skies and gaze at the snow-capped mountains. Stress is hard to find here.

Changeover day
There is no changeover day. We want guests to be able to take advantage of convenient flights and dates for their holiday, and so whether it is 1 or 20 nights or any day of the week, we will always be glad to see you.
Notes on accommodation
For the comfort of all our guests we do not permit smoking inside the house, but smoking is allowed in the garden or on the patio. The standard of food is excellent, Babs is a renowned cook. Dinner is always a popular choice and served at a time to suit you. Lunches and drinks are served throughout the day. Meals are usually served in the pretty patio or under the walnut tree, but in the winter, dinner is served in the lounge with a roaring log fire. If you have any special food requirements, please mention them when you make your booking. There is a sample menu below but a full menu can be found on our website. Dave will entertain you if you wish, by playing a selection of classical and popular pieces on his guitar while you relax with your after dinner coffee and liquors, all you need to do is ask. Samples from the dinner menu: Tapas, Prawns Pil Pil, Arabian Braised Beef, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Coffee and Liquor, Dinners can be pre-booked or booked as and when required.
Accessibility
There is good wheelchair access with one step in from the street and one small step into the house. The only other steps are up to the pool terrace and the upper garden.
Outside
There are sunloungers and a patio table and chairs on the pool terrace as well as several seating areas within the gardens. Whether you want to toast that tan, read in the shade of the walnut tree or find a secluded spot to be on your own, you will find it here.
The house is ideally located. It lies within a cluster of approximately fifteen houses all with secluded gardens in a hamlet known as Los Molinos. We are 10 minutes stroll from the Sierra Nevada Natural Park wetlands with its abundance of bird life. Hoopoes and Bee Eaters are just two of the attractive birds which visit the garden, and the Marsh Harrier is seen almost on a daily basis gliding and circling above. The house and garden command the most beautiful views from almost every aspect.
Coast/Beach
Costa Tropical is 30 minutes drive. This is a stunningly beautiful coast, these are just a few of the resorts.
Motril 35 minutes drive.
Salobreña 35 minutes drive.
Almuñecar 45 minutes drive.
Nerja 60 minutes drive.
Golf
The nearest Golf Course Santa Clara is just 10 minutes drive away at Otura. Club de Golf Granada (18 holes)is just 15 minutes drive at Las Gabias. Los Moriscos Club de Golf, 18 holes, is 30 minutes drive at Motril. Please note: You can hire clubs etc. at all the above courses for approx. 12 euros. Santa Clara website is in English. If you require translation help with the other sites we will be pleased to help.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort caters for all levels and all ages. It is open from late November to April and is only 40 minutes drive away. Private and group lessons, equipment hire and lift passes are all available at reasonable cost. There is a lot of information to be found on the internet.

Padul 5 mins drive. Granada 15 mins drive. Bermejales lake 30 mins drive. Ski Resort 40 mins drive. Cordoba 2.5 hours drive.
Further details
There are a number of activities for you to enjoy, such as: Guided walks for both countryside and Granada City. Golf. Cycling (we have 2 mountain bikes for guests to use no charge). Water Parks (Granada and Almuñecar). Horse-riding and trekking. Flamenco shows. Ski or snow boarding plus tuition. Quad biking. Adventure sports, Escalade, descent of canyons etc. The Alpujarra mountain region is 20 mins drive away (the author of Driving Over Lemons still lives in this area). Granada is 15 mins drive, a beautiful compact city and the home of the Alhambra Palace. Padul, 1 mile, is the largest village in the Lecrin Valley with several restaurants, bars, a bustling Friday market and a lovely 16th Century church. There are also several other places of interest. The main Fiesta is Semana Santa (Easter). Padul has one of the best Good Friday processions in the Lecrin Valley, lasting over 5 hours. Padul holds its own great Fiesta from the 24 - 27 September; fun for all the family. Bermejales (40 mins drive) is a lake set within beautiful scenery and is great for a swim. Alhama de Granada is an ancient town with its hot spring and is a further 15 mins drive. All the 16 or so villages in the Lecrin Valley are very different in character and all are worth a visit.

13.10.2007 Wow! what a fantastic two weeks. Hot and sunny with just two afternoons of showers. We fell in love with the lagoon opposite and must have traversed it so many times. We saw Marsh harriers, Bonnelli eagles, Egrets, Herons, Reed buntings, Crested larks and a little owl. The highlight of each day was coming home to Babs' lovely evening meals. Such a choice. Thanks a lot to you and Dave for making my birthday really special and one to remember. This has been one of our best holidays ever. We are now totally "chilled out" and ready for meeting the rigours of life in England.
