This sensitively restored and well-equipped spacious village house has mountain views from its roof terrace. It is in the centre of Niguelas, an unspoiled village nestling under the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada. Niguelas has several bars and shops, and mountain walks start from the village itself which is set on the spectacular cross-European GR7 walking route. It is well situated for a wide variety of activities year round.

Notes on accommodation
The Casa has storage heaters, oil-filled radiators and an open fire for the colder months. The bedrooms are all equipped with room fans. A cot and high chair are available. Other equipment includes beach umbrellas, coolbags and icepacks.

Outside
The Casa has a furnished roof terrace with mountain views. Bedroom 1 has a small private terrace. On the ground floor there is a small Andalucian internal patio.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of the Costa Tropical are 30-45 minutes drive from the Casa. The Costa boasts a variety of beaches from long sandy stretches to smaller and more secluded coves.
Golf
The Granada Golf Club has a good 18 hole course and is less than 30 minutes away.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is 45 minutes drive from the Casa. The most southerly ski resort in Europe and the only one from which you can see the sea! Skiing and snowboarding usually from November to April or May. Good access road to the resort.
Travel
The nearest airport is Granada, 30 minutes from the Casa. Malaga Airport is 1 3/4 hours. Car hire is recommended.
Distances
The wonderful City of Granada is 20 minutes away. The spectacular scenery and pretty villages of the Alpujarras start 15 minutes drive from the Casa. Walks in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and the pretty Lecrin Valley start from the village itself.
Further details
The village has several traditional small bars; all serve complimentary tapas with each round of drinks. There are two small supermarkets, two excellent bakeries a pharmacy and a part-time bank. At the edge of the village is a delightful and well-regarded restaurant with plenty more within a few minutes drive. Niguelas is set in wonderful walking country - we provide plenty of local information, guidebooks and walking maps/guides in the house.
In a nearby village there is a lovely private swimming pool which you can use for about 6 euros a day. It is large and beautifullly maintained with lots of shady areas, sunbeds and there is a bar/restaurant.

We all thought Niguelas was the best base of all the towns and villages we visited - enough shops and bars (we're already missing the fresh bread and tapas) for our needs and such a pleasant friendly atmosphere especially in the plaza in the evening. We all really enjoyed ourselves and have already recommended Casa La Solea to friends if ever they want a holiday in the area.
