The Villa Balcon del Mar is set in a stunning position above the whitewashed village of Competa, with spectacular views over the village, the mountains, and the coast from Malaga Bay in the west to Nerja in the east. As the sun begins to set, you feel that you could almost touch the peaks of Africas` Riff Mountains to the south. A truly magical view.
The villa is situated on the hillside at the start of the National Park, with the Sierra Almijara behind, and is less than a mile from the village. An ideal base from which to explore the area, walk in the hills, or just relax by the pool (or sauna).

Changeover day is normaly Saturday, however we can be flexible during winter months.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Torrox, which is approx 16 Km and takes around half an hour to drive.
The lovely old coastal town of Nerja is just along from Torrox, and the liverly Torre del Mar is approx 40 minutes drive.
Travel
Malaga airport is one hours drive.
Granada airport is 2 hours drive.
We can arrange car hire from either airport, and send detailed route instructions to Competa where we meet you and take you to the villa.

Competa - 1 Km
Coast - half hour
Nerja - 40 minutes (Nerja caves are a must see)
Granada - 2 hours (we can arrange tickets for the Alhambra Palace)
Malaga - 1 hour
Further details
Competa village is set at some 600 mtrs above sea level, on the edge of the National Park and Sierra Almijara.
It is a working village surrounded by olive groves, grape vines on the slopes, and avocado plantations.
There are a large number of excellent bars and restaurants that are open all year around.
The main square, the Plaza Almijara, is the hub of the village, a place to sit and enjoy local tapas and to absorb the atmosphere of village life.
Competa is a lively village, but not for those who want loud music, noisy bars and discoteques.

We ask that a 30% deposit is paid to confirm any booking, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
The deposit is non returnable within 8 weeks of arrival.
We accept Visa and Mastercard, Bank Transfers, or Euro Cheques.

Thought I would drop you a quick line to say how much we enjoyed our holiday with your company at Villa Balcon de Mar – the view was stunning, Villa great, pool warm and a big bonus for the boys’ English TV!!
From the first email I sent enquiring about availability to you booking tickets to Alhambra you both were prompt with reply, efficient and professional and would have no hesitation in recommending you to our friends.
Really missing the evenings in Competa square, people watching with a large Gin and Tonic in hand – I am sure we will see you again!
