This house has it all! A world class beach past natural dunes at the bottom of beautifully kept gardens. Between mid-June and mid-September, a magnificent pool with fountains provides great entertainment for the kids while beach bars and restaurants within walking distance keep the adults at bay. The house is spacious, light and airy, the beds of excellent quality and furniture, both inside and out, has been chosen with your comfort in mind. There's a BBQ in the private paved front garden and a large teak table with 8 chairs on the back patio. You have 2 parking bays in the basement garage with direct access to the house. Although this is a terraced town house, you are completely private as your neighbours' houses either side are set back. This house is in a particularly peaceful part of the complex and the only noisy neighbours are the cicadas!

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible and dependent on bookings received. Arrival time is between 16.00 and 22.00, departure time by 12.00.

Bathrooms: En-suite to master bedroom has twin basins, enormous walk-in shower, wc and bidet.
Bathroom with bath/shower, single basin, wc and bidet on same floor.
Separate guest wc off lounge/dining area.
Kitchen: Kitchen with fully fitted units and marble top, fan oven, halogen hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle.
Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer.
Living Rooms: The lounge has 2 sofas, coffee table, digital BBC TV, DVD, video and CD stereo. Cupboards full of books, CD's and some DVD's. The dining area has an extendable table seating up to 8 with matching sideboard unit.
Other: Large terrace area to enjoy sea views off the lounge, private paved garden area with seating and BBQ.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels, linen and 1 beach towel per person are included. Linen and bath towels are changed weekly.

 

Notes on accommodation
Families love this house! There is plenty of space for everyone and you don't have to worry about runaway kids as there is a garden gate. Even if they manage to overcome this obstacle, they only get out into the gardens of the gated community so still pretty safe actually.

Accessibility
I wish I could tell you that my lovely beach house is wheelchair friendly but I am so very sorry, it simply isn't. Think stairs! There's simply no way around them.

Outside
The small enclosed front garden is the ideal place for a BBQ party whilst the back patio with the large table and 8 or more chairs is perfect for candlelit dinners under the stars.

Coast/Beach
Jardines de Zahara backs straight onto the natural dunes and after them you have 12km of wide, long, golden beach, teeming with shells of all kinds. From June/July to September, beach bars erupt along the length of the beach complexes but they are gone again by the end of September and the beach returns to the seabirds and fishermen. There are beach guards from end of June to September and this is a gentle beach which shelves very gradually into the sea.

Golf
There are several excellent golf courses within 30 - 60 minutes' drive with excellent rates and availability. Closest and of merit are Montenmedio and Benalup. Montenmedio is also a major equestrian centre, Benalup is the hideaway for the celebrities who shun the glare of the media. Great mountain views from a superb course.

Travel
Jerez is about 1 1/2 hours from the house, provided you follow the directions! Trouble is, only Ryanair flys daily but Britannia usually manage a couple of flights a week in summer. Gibraltar is about 1 1/2 hours from the other direction and is serviced by Monarch and Easyjet. Malaga is just over 2 hours away, good roads and the world and his wife serves it so always a good bet.

Distances
From Zahara, you can be in Tarifa in 30 minutes. Superb old town and windsurfing capital or Europe. From here, you can take the ferry to Tangiers and explore Morocco. Or head in the other direction for the hilltop white town of Vejer de la Frontera, home to artists and eccentrics, including me! Along the coast, you have El Palmar, home to board surfing and beyond that, Conil. Further up coast is Cadiz, inland you have Jerez, Seville and Cordoba.

Further details
There is a well-stocked supermarket about 10 minutes walk from the house, just past the Hotel Melia, which offers excellent tennis courts with or without coach. You can find fresh bread and the essentials at several summer supermarkets around the beach complexes and the village of Zahara is only 3 km along the beach road. It has a covered market and several food shops. Barbate, the nearest town, is 10 km around the bay from Zahara. There are 4 cash points in Zahara and one bank, the Unicaja.

Booking notes
You can pay for the Beach House in sterling into an English bank account. I require a booking deposit of 30% at the time of booking. Your dates are only confirmed on receipt of this deposit and it is non-refundable.
Balance is due 30 days before your departure and again is non-refundable. However, if I can re-let your slot, I will refund the second payment. I will email you a Reservation Form with all the details when you book.
