El Escondite is a semi detached villa on the edge of Urbz La Marina. Hilly views, quiet walks and within staggering distance of eateries and drink-eries, supermarkets and all the amenities you'd expect. Snooze on your sun terrace, pose by the pool, bump on the bus or drive (10 mins) to La Marinas blue flag beach, stretching 10 miles, to chill out and enjoy the cafe, beach bar, sun loungers and fixed shades. Dump the kids in the childrens playground.This beach atmosphere is a million miles away from the overcrowded resort beaches! Dad, there are 4 established golf courses within a 30 min drive. Whatever type of holiday you're after, El Escondite will fit the bill - believe us we've road tested it many times and the visitors book comments all agree! Accessibility
The accommodation is all on one level but accessed by four steps and is not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The roof terrace is accessed via an exterior winding staircase.
Outside
We have a fully enclosed private gravelled and planted mediterranean garden with off-road parking. A raised terrace at the front is shady during the day for al fresco breakfast, evening G&Ts and that last night cap before turning in. At the rear of the villa the exterior staircase winds up to the huge roof terrace. Up here is the BBQ -great fun to use, sun loungers, patio dining set underneath a retractable sun awning. An outside shower to cool off under whilst catching those rays, outside tap (fill a small kiddies pool) and outdoor lighting/electrics so you can enjoy yourselves till late. The shared pools are exclusive to the community and have sun loungers, grass, shaded areas and poolside showers. The childrens pool is alongside the adults. It's just a 3 mins stroll from the villa and a key will be provided to you on your arrival.
Coast/Beach
La Marina beaches are 10 mins drive and during high season there is a bus service from the centre. Apart from the natural beaches there are stunning walks and scenery all along the coastline particularly Santa Pola Salt lakes where you see the pink flamingoes and Guardarmar where you can walk from town through the planted sand dunes down to the marina.
Golf
La Marquesa, Rojales course is just 5 miles away with 3 more established championship courses only 30 mins drive along the coast- Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor.
Travel
Alicante Airport is 30 mins door to door and Murcia Airport is 40 mins direct via the motorway. All routes are well sign posted and easy to navigate even for the novice left hand driver! We do recommend a hire car and we can arrange it for you if you prefer.
Distances
Alicante beautiful old town, castle, great shopping, 30 mins drive.
Elche - City of Palms, wonderful park, well worth a visit, 25 mins.
Benidorm - theme parks, great for kids & party animals, 1hr
Guardamar - authentically Spanish for family outings/eating, don't forget the sand dunes, 15 mins
Torrevieja - Large town, promenade market every night, street entertainers, beach side eateries. Daytime Aqua Park, go karting, boat trips, shopping and don't miss out on a Menu Del Dia on the beach.
Booking notes
We ask for a non refundable deposit to secure your booking of 25% of total rental. Balance of rental to be paid no less than 6 weeks prior to your stay. Price includes departure cleaning. We do not charge a breakages deposit but do trust that any items broken will be replaced like for like by our guests before they leave.
