Privately owned ground floor apartment since it was built in 1989 in a small complex with mature gardens and surrounded by almond groves. The pool and tennis court is for exclusive use of residents and their guests plus private parking on site. It is a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Alcossebre and Las Fuentes (the Springs) are two old fishing and farming villages on the Mediterranean coast, just North of Castellon, near the ancient town of Alcala de Chivert. There are several bays of sandy beaches ideal for swimming just 400m from the complex. For the more energetic there are golf courses and horse riding a short drive away.

Changeover day

Notes on accommodation
This is a ground floor apartment. There are 3 steps from the path to the apartment. An inner, lockable front grill door provides light and air with extra security. The children's pool is very close and within view from the apartment.

Outside
The large (shared) pool, with children's paddle area, is clean and well maintained as is the tennis court. The property has ample parking, and well maintained gardens with plenty of shade. The balcony faces south east with the sun in the morning and is ideal for dining alfresco. It is often warm enough to eat outside even in Winter. A table, sun umbrella, and 4 chairs are provided. A BBQ and 2 new sunloungers have been recently purchased for 2007.
Coast/Beach
There are 5 blue flag beaches, the nearest one being 400m away ideal for children with plenty of sand.
Golf
Panoramica is an 18 hole golf course designed by Bernhard Langer approx 30 mins drive away. It includes a driving range, pitch and putt, restaurant and spectacular landscape. There is also a course planned at Cap i Corp not far from La Senia. A course at Castellon is 30 mins drive.
Special interest holidays
There are horse riding stables nearby with lessons available and the opportunity for sea fishing from the shore and boat hire. A diving school is based at the local marina. Walking trails and mountain bike trails are nearby for the more energetic.
Travel
Approximate driving times on excellent roads from convenient airports are Valencia 1 hour. Barcelona 2 hours 15 mins. Reus 1 hour.
Distances
Restaurants, a supermarket and bars by the beach are 400m from the apartment. The expansive Playa Romana is a 10 min walk and the centre of Alcossebre is 20 mins away on foot. Peniscola and the fortress, where El Cid was filmed with Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren, is about 20km along the coast, and the historic hilltop town of Morella is an hours drive inland (set your watch back 300 years!). The Ebro delta, with its unique wildlife habitat, guided tours and boat trips is an hour away.
Further details
The area is well covered with mobile phone service, and Alcossebre and Las Fuentes have internet cafes to help you keep in touch. There is a Tourist Information Centre in Alcossebre and several Banks with ATMs which enable Euros to be withdrawn from UK Bank accounts. The British are generally made to feel welcome by the locals, many of whom do not speak English, but help can usually be found easily.
Booking notes
A £50 deposit is required on booking, balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, non refundable if cancelled less than 6 weeks before arrival. We suggest holiday insurance be taken to cover this risk. For last minute bookings full payment is required in advance.
