Los Alcazares is a working Spanish town with all the facilities you would need, like banks, shops, restaurants etc. Its main attraction is the beach which extends for 5km and has a palm lined promenade all along its length, the water is clear and blue flag status has been achieved. The sea is very safe from a child's point of view as it is non tidal and fairly shallow and gently deepens as you leave the shore. Los Alcazares is well connected to the rest of Spain by way of motorway and major roads and to the outside world by 2 nearby international airports, San Javier and Alicante. El Divino is a community of about 200 properties which has many year round residents as well as holidaymakers, for this reason it is impeccably maintained and reasonably quiet, it is very suitable for families and couples. Los Alcazares now boasts two 18 hole golf courses, one at Roda Golf and Beach Resort,which is about 3 kms from the apartments and the other, La Serena Golf, about 5km away.

Changeover day
We will be as flexible as possible with regard to times and days but please remember, to facilitate cleaning etc, it may be necessary to depart by 11.00 - or you may be unable to gain entry until 16.00.
Notes on accommodation
The double bedroom in Casa El Divino boasts a separate access door to the balcony. Both properties are cooled during the summer months by either ceiling or portable fans and heated in winter by plug in electric heaters. Casa El Divino has recently had air conditioning installed and this is an optional extra, it is available only in the lounge at present and is operated by a €1 coin which will give you 2 hours usage. Bathroom towels are provided in both properties but you are asked to bring your own beach towels. It is suggested by the owners that minor breakages, ie. crockery/glassware be replaced by the renter, these items can be purchased locally at the ‘Consome’ supermarket. Los Alcazares also has a number of street markets, Saturday close to the Las Velas shopping centre and Tuesday close to the rio seca on the main road, the big Sunday market at the Autocine is also closeby.
Outside
Both properties have a large balcony with a dining suite and a superb view of the Cazebo Gordo mountain, Casa el Divino also has a large roof solarium where you can relax on the sunbeds and catch a few rays (don't forget the sun-block). A large communal pool is available for occupants of both properties and this is surrounded by large landscaped gardens.
There is large grassed areas here where sunbathing is allowed but there are certain "community rules" in place so as to ensure that everyone has a most enjoyable stay. El Divino is also a gated community which makes it more secure and it also ensures that only apartment or townhouse occupants are using the pool and garden facilities.
Coast/Beach
Los Alcazares' main attraction is the beach which extends for 5kms and has a palm lined promenade all along it´s length, the water is clear and blue flag status has been achieved. The sea is very safe from a child's point of view as it is non tidal and fairly shallow and gently deepens as you leave the shore. It is about 7 minutes walk from the apartment complex.
Golf

Location: literally 2 minutes drive away
La Serena Overview: a new municipal course for Los Alcazares, opened in 2007.
Location: 5 minute drive at the southern end of the town.
La Manga Overview: Three 18-hole golf courses at La Manga Club, including the championship South Course & the scenic West Course. The North course was totally refurbished last year and is brand new and absolutely superb. In the heart of La Manga Club, a 1,400 acre sporting paradise nestled between the low hills which separate the Mediterranean from the sea of La Manga del Mar Menor. The resort is set amidst lemon groves, bougainvilleas and majestic palm trees that cover some of the finest golf courses in Europe.
Probably the most famous golf resort in the World. 3 championship courses designed by Dave Thomas and Robert Putnam/Arnold Palmer,
Mosa Trajectum, Los Ramblas, La Finca, Villamartin are all closeby
Special interest holidays
The famous and therapuetic mudbaths of the Mar Menor are closeby. In Lo Pagan people come from all over the world to bask in this thick black mud. It is reputed to have many therapuetic qualities and "nueve banos" or nine baths are recommemded for the process to be most beneficial.
The historical city of Cartagena is closeby where one finds many Roman ruins. Much of the city has been regenerated and some of the streets pedestrianised, the whole port area is now looking superb. Close to the city a new Shopping arcade has been recently opened and the range of shops is fantastic, day trips to these attractions can be organised with the property manager.
Travel
Los Alcazares is well connected to the rest of Spain by way of motorway and major roads and to the outside world by 2 nearby international airports, Murcia/San Javier airport is about 5/6 minutes drive away while Alicante is about an hour.
Rail services can be accessed at the nearby (10 to 15 mins drive) Balsicas or Torre Pacheco rail stations and from here connections to Murcia, Valencia and Madrid are possible.
there are pretty good bus services to Alicante, Torrevieja, Murcia or Cartagena.
Distances
You have a central square within 5 mins walk of the apartment which has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks etc. The beach is within 7/8 mins walk and you do not need a car if this type of holiday appeals to you. Within a short drive you have the beautiful historic city of Cartagena which has many Roman ruins, it also has a recently restored port area, also here can be found El Cortes Ingles which is an exclusive department store within 2 hours drive is the Holy City of Caravaca.
Further details
With regard to minor breakages (ie cups, plates, glasses)in the properties it would be appreciated by the owners if you would replace these rather than a deduction be made from the security deposit.
Booking notes
To book a 25% booking deposit is required. This can be lodged to any branch of Halifax, on receipt your booking will be confirmed by email, the balance is then to be lodged in the same manner 6 weeks before arrival, a refundable security deposit of £100 or 150 euros is also payable (cash only, on arrival) for those clients outside pound zone euro transactions can be arranged. Please be advised that the el divino complex is also a residential community and for this reason certain community rules
Guest comments
We have just returned from our 4th visit to Sean's apartment in two years. The apartment met all our expectations, so central to the supermarket, restaurants and very convenient to the beach and promenade, a big yes for us as we like to walk alot. The morning sun on the terrace was beautiful and roof solarium was an excellent place for private reading and relaxing in the sun. We found Sean exceeding helpful in times of crisis, he has a great knowledge and understanding of the area. The gardens and pools are kept in excellent condition ,it was so central to Cartagena, Murcia city and La Manga golf, hope you have a happy holiday(s) as we did.
"I had been to Los Alcazarez previously and had known what to expect on arriving. I am very careful as to where I bring my more discerning wife however. She is very particular about where she will stay while on holidays. I am glad to say in this case that she was over the moon about the apartment.
