Nerja is a charming former fishing village 50km east of Malaga on the Costa del Sol and here you will find San Juan de Capistrano Village, surrounded by tropical gardens with panoramic views of the sea and mountains. The village has a beautiful large communal pool and children's pool, local shops and restaurants and is 5 minutes drive from the beach and centre of Nerja. The centre of Nerja and numerous beaches in what must be amongst the most beautiful part of the Costa del Sol with its excellent climate and relaxed atmosphere is 1.5km away and is served by a public bus.

Notes on accommodation
The second bedroom, with 2 single beds, is located underneath the balcony with access only from the front garden (therefore not suitable for young children) but is ideal for another couple or older children. The villa benefits from a remote controlled air conditioning unit and ceiling fans for the hot summer months and also doubles as a heater for the winter months.

Outside
The villa has French windows from the lounge leading to a private south facing sun terrace with patio furniture and also steps leading down to the private walled garden which is ideal for children.

Coast/Beach
The centre of Nerja and numerous beaches is approx 1.5km away and is served by a regular public bus.

Golf
For golf we have provided a full set of Adults RH clubs and bag that guests are welcome to use at no extra cost for the 2 courses in the area. The nearest course which is about 15 minutes drive is Baviera Golf which is an 18 hole golf course designed by José María Cañizares, the prestigious professional golfer. The other course Los Moriscos Golf Club is about 25 minutes drive and is found on the the Costa Granada near Motril. More details can be found in our information book in the property.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is 32 kilometers south east of Granada and about a 90 minute drive away from Nerja. It is the southernmost ski resort in Europe and held the World Alpine Ski Championships in 1996. The resort is easily reached and has local bus and taxi services running from Granada and Nerja. The resort offers a total of 19 lifts in various forms and ideally is a resort for beginners and intermediates in both skiing and snowboarding and also offers a selection of other snow activities.

Travel
A car, though not essential as buses are available from Nerja to Malaga and Granada, would probably add to your enjoyment of the holiday as there is so much to see and explore in the area.

Granada: 60 minutes drive
Torre del Mar (waterpark): 15 minutes drive
Baviera Golf: 15 minutes drive
Moriscos Golf: 30 minutes drive

Distances
An hour’s drive from Nerja is the Moorish city of Granada with it's many places of interest. The most impressive is the Alhambra and Generalife gardens, which is one of the most important places to see on the Costa del Sol.
Nerja is also surrounded by pretty white villages synonymous with Andalucia. The nearest of these is Frigiliana, a 5 minute drive into the mountains. Frigiliana is an extremely pretty whitewashed village with narrow, winding streets full of shops and bars.

Further details
There are plenty of exciting outdoor activities in Nerja and area, such as scuba diving, horse riding, tennis, mountain biking, water skiing, climbing, sailing, deep sea fishing, hand-gliding or going on a jeep safari.
At Torre del Mar you will find Aquavelis a large water park. Also opposite the water park you will find El Ingenio Shopping Centre where you will find a hypermarket, large array of fashion and designer outlets (including Marks & Spencers), food outlets and leisure area including multiscreen cinema, indoor bowling and bars.

About the owner
Both my wife and I live in Manchester, England with our two sons and spend most of our holidays in Nerja, although we do try other destinations occasionally. In 2008 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary and treated ourselves to a twin centre holiday in San Francisco and Las Vegas where we renewed our marriage vows with Elvis.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We first visited Nerja in 2003 and fell in love with the place and a couple of years later decided that one day we would like to live here and so decided to invest in a property. We originally viewed a number of properties in Nerja but the moment we walked into our place at San Juan de Capistrano we knew it was the one for us and bought it immediately without hesitation and loved it ever since.

Unique benefits of the property
One of the things that we enjoy most is sunbathing and relaxing in the privacy of our villa's terrace, the peace and quiet and also being a stones throw from the lovely pool and facilities. Also in the evenings we like to try different restaurants in Nerja town and then watching the world go by from the cafes in the main square followed by a nightcap in Rocky's bar over the road.
