A beautiful rural location, just 20 minutes drive from the coast and closeness to motorways for easy access to the must see sites of Andalucia, makes Casa Ianda the perfect place to combine the tranquility of a rural vacation with a beach and sightseeing holiday. Both of our en-suite Guest Rooms are at pool level with private access down a flight of 19 outside steps. We are in the heart of the beautiful Axarquia area of Andalucia - within 5-10 minutes drive are the villages of Los Romanes, La Viñuela and Puente Don Manuel with their good choice of restaurants/bars. A car is essential. Our nearest airports are Malaga (50 minutes) and Granada (80 minutes). Free WiFi on the upper terrace or there is a computer for guests use (no charge) in the main house. Choose either our extensive buffet breakfast or a cooked English Breakfast (Meat or Vegetarian). Dinner also available - Dinner of the Day, A la Carte Menu, Vegetarian Menu and Childrens Menu.

Notes on prices
The first price in each price band is for the Moon Room, the second is for the Sun Room; weekly rates available. 3rd or 4th person sharing the Sun Room €15 per night. Payment in Euros cash on departure. One Night Stays - there is a €15 supplement for stays of just one night; however, this supplement is not charged if you have Dinner here.
Changeover day
No set changeover day. Rooms available from 2pm (you can relax by the pool if you arrive earlier) and room vacation is by 11am (luggage can be stored for late departures and you are welcome to stay by the pool until you need to leave for the Airport).
Notes on accommodation
Daily bed making, towels provided. Bring your own pool/beach towels or to save on your luggage allowance, obtain these from us free of charge. Free Wifi internet access is available or, if you do not have a laptop, there is a computer you may use in the main house (no charge for up to 30 minutes use per day on this computer). Unfortunately we are unable to accept animals. The room price includes our buffet breakfast consisting of cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, yoghurts, selection of cheeses + hams, toast with jams and preserves and tea, coffee or hot chocolate or a cooked English breakfast (meat or vegetarian). Dinner is available (see ´Pricing Information´). If you like to be pampered when on holiday we can arrange for an English Hairdresser or English speaking Massueuse to visit you here at Casa Ianda.
Accessibility
As our rooms are down a flight of 19 outdoor stairs, our accommodation is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems/walking difficulties. There are also 4 steps up to the Sun Room.
Outside
Our 100 m2 poolside terrace is the ideal place to relax and has sunbeds, sun umbrellas, tables and chairs - immediate access to this terrace from both of our Guest Rooms. 8x4m (26 x 13 foot) private swimming pool for Guests use; Guests have unlimited use of our pool but children must be attended at all times.
Our 25 m2 covered Terrace is where we serve Breakfast and Dinner in Summer and is where Guests can use our free WiFi access.
We also have a 42 m2 Roof Terrace with panoramic views of the Lake and surrounding mountains. This is a real Winter suntrap and is the perfect place to relax with a good book whilst enjoying a glass of Wine.
Coast/Beach
Our nearest coastal town is Torre del Mar 15 minutes drive - this is a typical Spanish working seaside town with long promenade and long/clean beaches plus one of the few remaining working fishing fleets in the area and excellent Tapas Bars/Fish restaurants. The major tourist resorts of Torrox Costa + Nerja are a 25-30 mins drive.
Golf
Nearest golf course 20 minutes drive (18 hole Baviera Golf at Torre del Mar). Anoreta Golf (18 hole championship course) at a 25 minutes drive.
Skiing
2 hours drive to ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada. A popular day excursion for our winter visitors is to order a full cooked English breakfast for 5:30am, leave here by 6am so you can hire skis and be on the slopes by 8:30am, spend the full day skiing then return here in time for a hot late evening meal.

This area is a Walkers Paradise and we have a good selection of maps and leaflets with suggested routes for you to follow.
We can arrange Horse Riding trips around the Lake area.

Car hire essential. Malaga Airport 50 minutes drive, Granada Airport 80 minutes. Directions - Take Exit 272 off the A7/E15 Motorway at Velez Malaga and turn left on to the A356 in direction of Colmenar; travel straight along until you see the lake on your right. Cross the dam then turn left towards Los Romanes. EL Mirador del Emblase is 400 meters up on your left.
Distances
Our 3 nearest villages are Los Romanes, La Viñuela and Puente Don Manuel - all a 1-3 kilometers drive from Casa Ianda. Nearest large towns Velez Malaga + Torre del Mar 15 minutes drive. Nearest cities Malaga - 30 minutes drive and Granada - just over 1 hours drive. We are surrounded by the most beautiful scenery including 3 Natural/National Parks all reachable within a short drive.

Nearest shops in Puente Don Manuel (7 mins drive). Nearest banks in La Vinuela (7 mins drive) or Alcaucin (15 mins drive). Nearest restaurant (Indian) 0.5 km walk. Other restaurants (several Spanish + 1 x English + another Indian) within 7-10 mins drive. Nearest large shopping Centre EL Ingenio (15 minutes drive) - large selection of clothes/shoe shops, cafes/bars, a newly opened C & A, Dunnes Department Store (similar to M+S) and massive Eroski Hypermarket plus a bowling alley and restaurants/bars. The Aqua Velis Water Park - open mid-May to mid-September - is immediately opposite the El Ingenio Shopping Mall.

Deposit: No deposit is required but please let us know if you have to cancel rather than just not turning up. Sorry - credit/debit cards not accepted.

About the owner
We moved permanently to Spain in 2001 having owned holiday homes in different areas of the country for 13 years before that. In working days Ian was an accountant and Brenda was a Specialist Nurse. We spent a lot of time touring around to find the perfect place to settle - saw our hillside and fell in love. Had the house built - a traumatic experience! - and now wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We tend to stay in the background so not to intrude on your stay but our door is always open and we are very happy to welcome you in for a chat and glass of Vino! We know this area very well and can advise on places to visit that you may not otherwise know about. We would be delighted to welcome you to Casa Ianda.
