Everything you need is on your doorstep – beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. It is also within a short drive of the more 'lively' tourist resorts of Mojacar and Garrucha in one of the sunniest regions of Spain!

Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday, but can be flexible to suit flights, subject of course to availability.
Our English born local managing agent will meet you and show you round. He is also on hand in case of problems.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
The ground floor apartment is suitable for both young and old. Children will love the pool, which is accessed by a gate from the front terrace. The lounge and bedrooms have ceiling fans, and there are wrought iron gates enabling front and back doors to be left open to allow the cooling sea breeze through.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor and can be accessed easily from the rear car park with just one or two steps. There are stairs from the front entrance.

Outside
The complex is built in a Moorish style around a central courtyard, with a good sized swimming pool and sunbeds arranged around a terrace. The courtyard has pleasant mature gardens and a waterfall feature. There are large roof sun terraces with sea views. The apartment has a covered terrace with dining area, leading through a gate to the pool. The apartment also has a rear terrace, where it's possible to sit and catch the late evening sun.
The apartment is located in the quiet village of Villaricos which has retained it's Spanish feel (especially on market day). There are shops, bars and restaurants nearby. There are sandy beaches within a short walk to the south, and a promenade runs between the two marinas.
There are large supermarkets located 5-10 minutes drive away and Vera waterpark is just 5 minutes away by car.

Coast/Beach
Many of Almeria’s beaches have been awarded EC ‘blue flags’ for cleanliness. Villaricos has 2 sandy beaches, the best of which is just a few minutes walk to the south of the village. It has a beach bar selling drinks and food. There are many more beaches nearby: Vera Playa – a long, wide sandy beach, 5km to the south. Mojaca Playa – long sandy beach lined with restaurants and bars, 14km south. Pozo del Esparto – 10km to the north. San Juan de Los Terreros – beaches and coves, 14km north.

Golf
There are 4 major golf courses within a short drive: Desert Springs, Valle del Este, Marina de la Torre and Cortijo Grande.

Travel
The area is served by a number of airports, the closest being Almeria (approx 1 hour), Murcia – San Javier (approx 2 hours) and Alicante (approx 2¼ hours). Car hire is recommended as the public transport is very limited and there are many interesting places to visit. Assistance can be provided for booking flights and car hire.

Distances
Parque Aquatico Water Park is located on the road to Vera, only 5 mins drive away. Mojacar Pueblo (14km) is a quaint old village of whitewashed ‘sugar-cube’ buildings perched on a mountain. Garrucha (9km) is a busy fishing town and port with 16th Century castle. Cuevas de Sorbas has deep gorges and stalactite caves carved from limestone Cuevas del Almanzora – caves and coves to explore.

Further details
Sailing and boat trips depart from Garrucha harbour, including mini cruises to Cabo de Gata National Park. Diving: Villaricos has its own PADI Diving School, open all year round. Mini Hollywood recreates the magic of the Wild West at the site where many films were shot. There are horse riding and gunfight shows daily at noon and 5pm.
Villaricos has a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Booking notes
A deposit of 30% of the cost of the property rental is payable at the time of booking. Full payment is due FOUR WEEKS before arrival.
A damage deposit of £100 is payable along with the balance, FOUR WEEKS before arrival. The deposit will be taken as a separate cheque from the rental payment, and will be refunded after a departure check has been undertaken by the local managing agents
