A delightful country villa within the grounds of a 200 year old Andaluz farmstead Casa Abuela is an exquisite high specification 2 bed 2 bathroom self-catering holiday let (sleeps 4-6). Plus, a beautifully restored three bedroom apartment (sleeping 6-8) comprising half of the main farmhouse (Finca Retama). The self-contained holiday accommodations are set in 8 acres of private arable land. The exceptionally large 15x6m pool is fully fenced, landscaped and private to the whole estate. Both luxury self-contained rentals are tastefully decorated to a Moorish theme. Casa Abuela has been especially designed for wheelchair access. Both vacation rentals can be booked individually or together. These unique lettings are very comfortable, have all the mod-cons; central heating and are available all year around.

Outside
The stunning mosaic-tiled pool (15.5 x 6m) is securely fenced and landscaped with irrigated lawns and encircled by a lovely cypress hedge and mature pink roses. There are plenty of sun-loungers and shade. It is private to the whole estate. The large and shaded private terraces have BBQs and seating for 6 and 8 people respectively. There is also a play area with table tennis a big sand pit and slide.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach, which is just under an hour’s drive along one of the most scenic routes in Andalucia, is Marbella’s San Pedro. This happens to be one of the best the Costa del Sol has to offer as the sandy beach is wide and well shaded by trees, the water clean and the immediate area uncluttered by the usual assortment of Costa over development. The undeveloped Costa de la Luz beaches (long stretches of pristine sands) are under 2 hours drive away.

Plenty on the Costa del Sol 52kms away.
Skiing
Sierra Nevada about 2 hours away.
Travel
Ronda is roughly equidistant between Seville, Jerez and Malaga airports. Drive time is about 1 1/2 hours so a car is a must. There are train services to Malaga, Seville and Algeceiras. The direct Ronda-Madrid service runs twice daily and takes 4 1/2 hours on the rapid service.
Distances
Ronda 6 kms, Marbella 50 kms, Malaga airport 100 kms. Seville and Cadiz 1 1/2 hours and Gibraltar is within 2 hours drive. The surrounding Serrania de Ronda is also excellent for riding, rock-climbing, cycling and walking.

The beautifully conserved and ancient Moorish town of Ronda with its world famous gorge, oldest bullring in Spain, and delightfully winding cobbled streets is just on your doorstep…or how about the charming white Andalucian villages typical only to the region and where a slower, more traditional way of life still pervades? These make excellent and easy half day trips.
Three natural parks surround Ronda and so, not surprisingly, those looking for an action holiday will not be disappointed. Whether it’s caves to explore, horses to ride, a long cycling trip out into the hills or rock climbing in the highly-rated ‘El Chorro’ mountains or simply a gentle stroll around Finca Retama’s ample grounds followed by the rest of the day lazing by the pool…there’s something here for all energy levels. It should also be noted that bird watchers and painters favour the area.
You will find that, as the owners occupy the half of Finca Retama for a considerable part of the year, they will be able to offer advice and information as well as being on hand to deal with any problems which may arise.

About the owner
After a year's back-packing around the world with my husband we decided to settle in Southern Spain, restore an old farmhouse and begin a family. That was 7 years ago and we're still loving the laid-back Andalucian lifestyle. Our little holiday-let business has gone from strength to strength with many repeat guests. Whilst I run the business my practical husband keeps everything looking fabulous, the lawns cut and the pool clean! We now have two luxury rentals for hire.
