Coast/Beach
One of the best beaches on the Cantabrian coast is within minutes of the apartment.
Golf
Campo de Golf Santa Marina, 18 holes, in San Vicente de la Barquera, (2 hours drive approx from our apartment and along the coast going west), was created in 2001 by Severiano Ballesteros. It is famous amongst national and foreign players. A coastal 9 holes golf course in Oyambre Park is aprox 30 minutes from the apartment.
Skiing
Alto Campoo is about an 3 hours from our apartment (going south), and near REINOSA/NESTARES. Its altitude is about 1.650 mts. with 18 slopes, 4 green, 6 blues, 8 red. Services like creche, tuition courses for adult and children; rental equipment; restaurants and cafes are available.
Travel
Transport to Cantabria from England - Direct flights from Stansted / Santander with Ryanair. Easyjet from Stansted to Bilbao. With go from Heathrow / Gatwick to Bilbao. Brittany ferries from Plymouth to Santander, twice a week departures. P & 0 ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao, twice a week departures.
Distances
The airport in Santander is about 4 kilometers from the apartment and on a regular bus route, you can take a taxi outside the airport.
Loredo, Laredo, Besaya y Valles Centrales, Comillas, Santillana del Mar y Suances and Pedrena are all beautiful old Cantabrian villages and all worth a visit and accessible by bus from Santander's main bus station. Buses are clean, very regular and cheap.

Banks, restaurants, shops and leisure activities are all within walking distance.
