Casa del Pino and Cortijo Acasia are two converted Andalusian farmhouses in a large tropical garden in the hills below Sierra Lugar (just south of Sierra Nevada). The houses share the large and lush garden, where you can wander, sit and read, play with the children, and be grateful for the shade given by the large eucalyptus, acacias, palms and cactuses. If you do not want to go out for a meal, why not make a barbecue-party in your own, enclosed and private loggia, or out in the communal garden. The grand (30ft diameter) round pool is always tempting, even in the middle of the night. The property is fully enclosed and safe. You only have 15 min to Motril with all shopping facilities, one hour to Granada and the Alhambra (we can organise tickets) and 15 min to the nearest beaches.

As we live on the property, we are flexible about changeover days.
Notes on accommodation
Heating is normally not necessary, but heaters are available.
Outside
Each house has private, walled-in gardens as well as the use of the large park around. This is enclosed, safe and ideal for children to roam about and explore. They will also enjoy playing with the dogs, cats and collect fresh eggs. The large round swimming pool (30ft diameter) is only used by us living on the property.
Coast/Beach
The beaches on Costa Tropical are known for cleanliness and unpolluted water. The nearest beach is 15 min. away by car.
Golf
Motril has a beautiful golf course about 20 km away from our property.

Skiing
Sierra Nevada is only about an hour away with excellent skiing at all levels. The season starts early December and lasts till late April. Why not combine skiing with a Christmas holiday in the sun? We are all keen skiiers and could show you around if time permits.

Special interest holidays
We can arrange riding in the hills around Los Tablones. We ride with "Western" style saddles, and the horses are all well behaved.
Travel
The nearest airports are Malaga, Almeria and Granada. The drive from Malaga is about 2hrs. There is no public transport to Los Tablones, so use of a car is essential. Car Hire at the airports is relatively cheap.
Distances
There are two "tapas" bars in the village. Both are reachable by foot. Motril is the second largest city in Granada and have all shopping facilities, banks, etc. 15 minutes by car. Granada with Alhambra is about an hour away and Malaga (1.5 hours) with the Picasso musem is worth visiting. A day trip to Gibraltar is also possible.

Other places of interest are Almunecar with its aqua-park, Salobreña, the Alpujarras, the Sierra Nevada National Park and Capo de Gato near Almeria.

Booking deposit 30% of total rental. Balance to be paid 2 weeks prior to holiday. Refundable damage deposit 200 euros. For late booking arrange with owner.
