Our beautifully restored two storey Farmhouse is set in approximately 5000 square metres of olive groves, almonds and orange trees. Relax on one of the terraces or under the shade of an ancient olive tree or a grapevine with a glass of wine and a good book, or cool off in the private swimming pool and marvel at the spectacular mountain views. Inside, the spacious accommodation is furnished to a high standard including some antiques, sympathetic to its restoration. Orgiva town is within twenty minutes walking distance and is the place to experience the local restaurants and bars where tapas are Free! A 'must' is a visit to the nearby famous white villages nestling below the Sierra Nevada, or experience the wonder of The Alhambra Palace in Granada. Many of our guests have enjoyed a trip to some of the beautiful beaches only 30 minutes drive away. In our guests experience, you will have a wonderful relaxing holiday in this magical environment.

Changeover day
Fridays have been set as the change over day, as this makes shopping easier and flights cheaper (adjustments can be made). Arrival not before 2pm and departure no later than 10am.

Outside
The gardens contains olive terraces, bordered by almond, fig and orange trees. There is access to many walks in the countryside, the town and local bars and restaurants. There are spectacular views of the surrounding mountains from most aspects. Easy access by car and a short, safe 20 minute walk into town along a lovely track.
Coast/Beach
It is only a 35 minute drive to the local Mediterranean beaches of Salobrena and Motril and around 50 mins to the un-spoilt city of Granada, where there is so much to see and explore, including the Alhambra Palace.
Golf
Golf courses can be found at Motril 35 mins away and Granada 50 mins away.
Skiing

Great access to many walking and riding centres in the Alpujarras and the Sierra Nevada.
Travel
Malaga airport is one hour 45 mins. Almeria airport 2 hours and Granada airport 55 mins which is now open to many commercial carriers. Car hire is easily available at all airports.
Distances
The wonderful whitewashed mountain villages of Boubion, Pampaneira and Trevelez can be reached in under an hour by car.
Further details
The Farmhouse is fully furnished and is situated approx a mile south of the town of Orgiva in countryside dedicated to growing oranges and olives. Goats and sheep with their herders are regular visitors along the tracks. This part of Spain is one of the few remaining areas where tapas are still served with drinks, free of charge. You are surrounded by views of the stunning Sierra Nevada, often capped with snow in the winter and Spring, ideal for skiing. It is a walkers paradise, containing a wide variety of flora and fauna, or for just enjoying the pleasures of conversing with the local people. Horse-riding is available nearby and golf is available at Motril and Granada. The larger neighbouring village of Lanjaron, with its medicinal spring water, is a must to visit. The area has a truly magnificent feel to it. Traces of the Moorish culture can be seen all around, the irrigation channels, terraced olive and almond groves and the hand built walls all provide a wonderful reminder of the past. To lie out under the stars at night staring at the crystal clear 'Milky Way' is truly awesome. A 'magical' and relaxing oasis where you will unwind.
Booking notes
A non-returnable deposit of 10% is required (minimum £300) as confirmation of booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. A £200 returnable breakages deposit is required as part of the final payment which will be reimbursed, subject to the villa being left in a satisfactory condition.

Date of Stay: May 2008 A perfect villa - friendly owners, idyllic setting, lovely pool and grounds, spacious and elegant interior, all possible amenities provided. We had a fantastic break - days spent lounging by the pool against a stunning mountain backdrop, nights enjoying free tapas in the local bars. Restaurants good and excellent value. Also great sightseeing in the area - half an hour to lovely beaches, an hour to the magnificent Alhambra, and lots of stunning mountain villages to explore just a few minutes drive away. The villa had everything you could ask for and more - generous 'welcome pack' including wine and beer, good supply of books, videos and CD's. A highlight was picking and oranges from the villas orange trees each morning for breakfast. The pleasant local town of Orgiva was only a 10-15 min walk down an easy path (past goats!) with a good restaurant at the local campsite only 2 minutes from the villa. All in all a perfect break and would highly recommend to others.
