A traditional Catalan-style villa with verandahs on three sides, the house has four large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and is set in a large mature garden with a swimming pool, bordering a fine 18-hole golf course and close to the spectacular Costa Brava coastline.
From June to September it is the perfect location for a family holiday with the wide variety of beaches, sporting activities and restaurants for when you are not relaxing by the pool.
It also an ideal year round base for a golfing holiday with not only the home course but many other excellent courses within a short drive.

Changeover day
Rentals normally start and end on a Saturday but if you have a particular requirement please ask as we may be able to offer some flexibility at certain times of the year.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The spacious villa (400 sq m) sleeps 8 comfortably; it has four large airy bedrooms, each with its own private balcony, two single beds, built-in wardrobes and dressing table and en-suite bathroom. |
| Bathrooms: | Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, all well equipped with a bath, shower, toilet, basin and bidet. There is also a guest bathroom with a shower on the ground floor. |
| Kitchen: | The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and an electric kettle. There is also a small table and chairs. |
| Utility Room: | The washing machine is in the basement, together with a second fridge/freezer. |
| Living Rooms: | The large lounge is traditionally furnished and has a large open fireplace. Glass doors open directly on to an open terrace with table and chairs, overlooking the garden, perfect for evening drinks. |
| Other: | Two steps lead up into the the open-plan dining room, with its Catalan style solid wood furniture: the dining room table seats 10 with ease. The verandah outside the dining room is covered and has a large circular table and chairs. |

Outside
The villa has verandahs on three sides and private balconies for all of the bedrooms. It is set in a large mature garden (1,500 sq m) with a 12m swimming pool.
There is a patio surrounding the pool where there is a large circular table and chairs with sun umbrella and sun loungers.
On the verandah outside the kitchen is a large charcoal barbecue.
Coast/Beach
The spectacular Costa Brava coastline is only a 10 minute drive away.
Golf
The Costa Brava is an excellent area for golf, and Santa Cristina is an ideal base to explore its courses.
In 2000, it was named 'best emerging golf destination of the year' by IAGTO, the trade association of the golf tourism industry, who said:
"...golf lovers have a destination featuring 10 golf courses that are open year-round and with a Mediterranean climate with mild temperatures that keep the courses in perfect condition. The quality, spectacularity, variety and accessibility to tee off-times are undisputed attractions of courses designed by such major figures as Robert von Hagge, Hawtree or Ramón Espinosa, among others.
The course styles are varied including links, parkland layouts which are often lined with impressive pines, cork and oak trees, whilst others include water hazards and large undulating greens. The environment has provided this area with a privileged landscape, where golf courses have been perfectly adapted and carefully respect the environment around them.
Travel
The villa is about equidistant from the French border and Barcelona, around 100 km from both: it's a 1 hour drive from the border.
You should bear in mind that, however you travel to Santa Cristina, you are likely to need a car while you are here.
By Air:
Girona airport is about 30 minutes' drive, and is well served (particularly by Ryanair) from many European cities. There are buses from the airport direct to Santa Cristina.
The major car hire companies have offices at the airport.
Distances
Santa Cristina d'Aro is close to the spectacular Costa Brava coastline, 4-5 km from the towns of Sant Feliu de Guixols and Platja d'Aro, 25 km from Girona and 100 km from Barcelona.
Santa Cristina is a little village with a pretty square; it has an excellent supermarket, baker, butcher and fishmonger.
It is also ideally placed for exploring the Costa Brava - you can go in all directions and find plenty of interest, both scenically and culturally.

Sports Facilities:
* Tennis. There are 4 hard courts less than 100 yards from the villa, and another 3 beautifully maintained clay courts, 1 hard court and 1 'paddel' court down at the clubhouse at the entrance to the golf estate. You may play on these by booking and paying by the hour or you can buy a 1 or 2 week 'abono' which gives you unlimited use of the courts during that time.
* Watersports. San Pol, the beautiful sandy beach at S'Agaro, half way between Sant Feliu and Platja d'Aro, is the place for watersports. From the beach you can waterski, windsurf, sail or pedalo. You can also windsurf, sail or pedalo from Platja d'Aro or Sant Feliu. Also at Platja d'Aro is the popular Aquadiver water amusement park
* Go-karting is just outside Santa Cristina, on the old road to Castell d'Aro and Platja d'Aro.
* Horse riding is in Santa Cristina
* Mini golf is at both San Feliu and Platja
* Pitch and putt. At Solius, 2 km away, is a very fine 18-hole course - really a proper golf course in miniature. There is a also another good 9-hole par-3 course at Mas Nou, on top of the hills outside Platja d'Aro, and a more conventional pitch and putt course in the town.
* Walking and cycling. The pine covered hills around Santa Cristina, offering spectacular views from the summits, are excellent for walking and mountain biking, and start 400m from the villa. Road cyclists will find lots of routes around the neighbouring towns and countryside, and there are plenty of dedicated cycle tracks, many of which are ideal for family outings.
Booking notes
The booking deposit is 20% of the total rental amount and is non-refundable. The remaining balance must be paid 4 weeks prior to departure. There is also a refundable deposit of €300 to cover any breakages or damage during the rental. Full details will be on the booking form.
