Meaning 'House of Dreams' and standing in a private ecological 8 acre estate tucked away in a protected National Park, the Casa del Sueño is found in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Costa de la Luz. For those seeking a traditional Spain with fiestas, fresh food, protected wildlife and undeveloped beaches – look no further. With "stylish self-catering" (The Telegraph), the Casa is perfect for smaller groups of 2-8 who wish to enjoy its comfortable space, peace and tranquillity. A few minutes away are some of the most spectacular beaches on the coast, top class golf courses, nature reserves and a wide range of activities to suit even the most energetic from horseriding to whale watching. Also within easy reach are many of the historical and cultural gems of Jerez, Seville, Ronda and even Morocco or simply laze by the private infinity pool, offering stunning sunset views across the valley to Vejer. Changeover day
During low and regular seasons, we have a 7 day minimum and a Saturday changeover, 14 days in High & Peak Seasons. Arrival time is between 4pm - 10pm and departure before 10.30am - unless by prior arrangement.

Bedrooms: There are four en-suite bedrooms with hand-made hardwood furniture; 2 king-plus four-poster beds and 2 twins (which fit together to form superkings). Patio doors open onto a large front balcony area with table, chairs and stunning sunset views to Vejer.
Bathrooms: Each bathroom has underfloor heating, a large double-ended bath with shower rose over, toilet, bidet and sink inset into cream marble and electric towel rail.
Kitchen: New fully-fitted wooden kitchen with granite worktops, a electric 4-ring hob and separate oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Very well stocked for cooking & entertaining.
Utility Room: Kitchen has washing machine and tumble drier, with iron and ironing board and drying racks also available in the house.
Living Rooms: Two large sitting rooms - the main one has several comfortable sofas and open fireplace and French doors leading to West-facing patio. The snug has 2 large sofas and armchair, TV, UK satellite, DVD player and fireplace. There is WiFi throughout the house.
Other: A separate dining room has French doors out to the patio, a large antique oak table seating 8-10 and bar area with fridge/freezer.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Underfloor heating throughout and solar water with electrical back-up. House is cleaned weekly (twice a week in High and Peak Seasons), with all bedlinen and bathroom towels included. Full housekeeping, cook or particular catering also available.

 

Notes on accommodation
Casa del Sueño is a wonderful place to relax year-round. With thick stone walls and cooling sea breezes, the cortijo remains cool in summer (fans are also provided for every room), while full underfloor heating keep it snug and warm in winter with plenty of hot water (provided by solar & full electrical back-up).

As well as being enjoyed by guests of all ages, the cortijo is also very popular with smaller groups (such as golf) with individuals or couples who each want the privacy of their own en-suite bedroom, but enjoy the flexible space and facilities of a whole house rather than staying in a hotel. Further housekeeping and catering of your choice is also available - for everything from breakfast buffets, picnic hampers and meals to daily cleaning. Guide and hearing dogs are always welcome.

Accessibility
The cortijo and pool are suitable for those able to climb stairs. The pool has wide shallow steps at one end into 0.5m depth of water as well as a bathroom beside, while the bedrooms and bathrooms in the Casa are all on the first floor, solely accessed by stairs. However, we do have two private Casitas on the estate which are are disabled/wheelchair accessible, with another swimming pool.

Outside
Finca El Sueño is a private, very peaceful organic estate surrounded by trees and with stunning views across the valley to Vejer. The infinity pool is spring-fed and non-chlorine, 5m x 10m in size and 0.8 to 2.4m in depth with wide Roman steps, open between April and November. It is surrounded by a stone patio and shaded pergola, pool house with honesty bar, changing room and bathroom.

Coast/Beach
Some of the best beaches on the Costa de la Luz are just 10 minutes away by car - the long golden beaches of El Pamar & Canos de Meca up to Conil are particularly good for families in the summer and surfers in the winter.

Golf
Montenmedio Golf & Country Club is less than 500m walk away. 'The layout of the tees and greens make this course one of the best in Europe both in quality and landscape', according to Spanish professional Seve Ballesteros. Within a short drive away there are also several other excellent courses such as Sherry Golf Jerez, Novo Sancti Petri, Benalup and Arcos to name a few, so you can play a different course every day of the week and often with a good discount rate.

Special interest holidays
Our guests can enjoy a wide range of activities such as golf, horseriding, 4WD & quad-biking provided by Montenmedio Country Club nearby (which also hosts the annual Sunshine horseriding Tour) as well as others in the area. There is a wealth of choice for nature lovers too - from whale and dolphin watching to safaris exploring the wonderful National Parks such Donana and Los Alconocarles, or simply birdwatching and enjoying the local flora and fauna walks.

Your days can be as active or as laid-back as you wish and you also do not have to arrange everything in advance, rather just take it day by day. Sherry-tasting, a day-trip to Seville, Cadiz or even Morocco are firm favourites for those preferring the intellectual rather than the physical approach!

Travel
There are four key airports that are all within driving distances offering a wide choice of airports and airlines for our guests - Jerez (45 mins), Gibraltar (1 hour), Seville (2 hours) and Malaga (2 1/2 hours). Guests may also travel by train from all over Europe, which we would be happy to give advice on. Car hire once here is considered essential due to our semi-rural location, although airport collection and local taxis can be arranged with advice on public transport.

Distances
The beautiful 'white village' of Vejer de la Frontera is just 5 minutes by car, with the seaside villages and towns of El Palmar, Canos de Meca and Conil just 10-20 minutes away. The historic & cultural towns of Jerez, Seville, Ronda & Cadiz (to name just a few!) are also within a day trip distance from 45 mins to 2 1/2 hours away. Morocco is also just an hour or so away, door-to-door!

Further details
As well as a fresh daily bread delivery, we also have three restaurants and ventas (local cafe/bars) within walking distance. A short drive away there are many more - all offering wonderfully fresh ingredients with local & international cuisine. There are also a wide range of local shops, supermarkets, banks and markets with the closest being Vejer, just 5 mins away.

Booking notes
Once booking form is completed, a 35% deposit is required for confirmation. The balance of 65% is due 2 to 3 months before arrival (depending on season), along with a refundable security deposit. Payment can be made in euros or sterling, via cheque, bank transfer, credit or debit card.
