A renovated cortijo, situated on the outskirts of the village with possibly the best views to Granada and the Sierra Nevada beyond. It sits in 20,000 sq.m. of land, in an area of outstanding natural beauty with panoramic views. There are no near neighbours to disturb the natural tranquillity. The beauty and clarity of the star-studded night sky will captivate you and the sunfilled days will relax you.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time is between 4pm and 10pm, departure time is 10am.

Bedroom 3 with twin beds.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with shower, wc, and washhand basin. Spacious family bathroom on ground floor with large walk-in shower, wc and bidet, washhand basin and washing machine.
Poolside bathroom with walk-in shower, washhand basin and wc.
Kitchen: Gas range cooker, fridge, microwave, table and chairs.
Living Rooms: Lounge with two leather sofas, Satellite TV providing BBC and ITV channels etc, video and DVD player, hi-fi unit. Dining room has seating for six people.
Other: Conservatory with sofa and two chairs where you can still relax and enjoy the views while avoiding the heat of the mid-day sun.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bedlinen and towels are provided but please bring your own sunbathing towels for poolside use. A washing machine is available. All linen is changed once a week. There is no maid service.

 

Notes on accommodation
The house is a renovated farmhouse and has various levels inside and out. Therefore it is not suitable for very young children.

Outside
The immediate area surrounding the house is gated and securely fenced. The tiled swimming pool is 10.5m long by 4 metres wide. It is entered by Roman steps at the shallow end and also has a second exit at the deep end (2 metres) by stainless steel step ladder. A Weber kettle style BBQ and picnic table for 10, with parasol, fulfill your outside dining requirements. Six loungers are supplied for sunbathing, with another two parasols for shade. There is a plentiful supply of good quality plastic glassware and crockery for poolside/outside use. A poolside shower room and landscaped gardens around the house and pool complete the picture.

Coast/Beach
The coast is about 1 hour's drive, with the town of Motril and its beach a favourite with the local population.

Golf
The nearest golf course is situated just outside Granada, about 40 minutes drive.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is approximately 40 minutes drive and is usually open from December-April.

Travel
Granada airport is 30 minutes away and is now served by Ryanair from London Stansted and Liverpool. Car hire is available at the airport or online.

Distances
The village of Illora is 5 minutes drive, as is the village of Alomartes. The little town of Montefrio, well worth a visit for the view, is 30 minutes and the city of Granada with the old Moorish quarter, Alhambra Palace etc is also 30 minutes drive.

Further details
There are several local supermarkets but unlike the UK they generally close between 14.00 and 17.30 daily and from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning. In larger towns the supermarkets stay open all day until 21.00/22.00 hours approximately, Saturday included but closed Sundays.

Booking notes
Full payment is required if booking less than 6 weeks in advance. Otherwise a 25% deposit is required with the remainder payable 6 weeks in advance. A 250 euro refundable security deposit is payable on arrival.
